I think that the US Dollar is going to be the world currency again or it is going to be China because they are sneaky and there economy is growing quick.
Maybe they will surprise us or is that not even possible?

These popular currencies like USD EUR GBP YAN etc will be on the top for at least few decades from now, I believe that bitcoin will grow time by time if more countries support bitcoin and more businesses accept bitcoin.

Exactly right, even when more and more countries accept bitcoin the popularity increases. At the same time this popularity won't make those dollars, euro and other leading currencies down. So bitcoin continues to be the leading digital currency. |

Till the day bitcoin becames mainstream i believe dollars will be keep their place. Bitcoin has no way to fight against those coins besides being a limited by number they are unlimited by value, but i doubt bitcoin can reach dollar or euro transaction volume.

Actually the American dollar is already the world currency and I can't see any event that could change this situation for the next 20 or 50 years, because the USA has proven to have the enough strength to overcome again and again the multiple crisis that they have continuously suffered, and I can't see any emerging country with similar strength to impose its national currency as the most important one.

I see a lot of votes from bitcoin and is in number 1. Is this because the poll is done in this community? Us dollar at second place but that cant happen. If it goes up as worldwide currency it is like that we should better be colonized by that country.
It is the bitcoin related forum and you expect people here don't believe in BTC or something? Of course it is number 1 because of our community, and that is totally fine. If this was 'standard' old school economic BBS you probably wouldn't see anyone voting for bitcoin. The thing is dollar must fall at some point. But I doubt it will happen during our lifetime. You see, the bigger the bubble the longer it takes to collapse. And dollar is certainly the longest lasting global currency of modern times. |

Whatever they feel like implementing  . I'm hoping for bitcoin to be a new world currency though, that way I probably wouldn't have to use debit cards most of the time . |

Poll's closed, but I'd say USD for maybe another 15 years or so. I don't think bitcoin is going to be replacing anything anytime soon. If anything, another fiat currency will if the USD hyperinflates. Or gold & silver or something like that. Bitcoin has a loooong way to go before it gets widely adopted.

world currency must be authorized and controlled by a country,
bitcoin litecoin and etc only anonymous not only one country is officially bitcoin handle and litecoin
if bitcoin or litecoin so world currency, exchange tool will be very difficult because bitcoin is also not in physical

The most commonly used world currency will be the us dollar for some time now. Unless there is some sort of catastrophic event that deflates the dollar then theres no reason it will get replaced. Id like to think bitcoin could crush it at some point but its hard to do that when so many people have their faith in the dollar. Im sure the euro isnt far behind but for now and the foreseeable future definitely usd.

I think that it still is going to be the US Dollar because I just do not see any other currency take over, especially not Bitcoin.

Dollar in the most powerful currency in the world base on my opinion but I think bitcoins will become the first major digital currency in the future and dollars will be affected as the demand will certainly decrease on that certain currency.
This is just my prediction and I know it sounds crazy but who knows, we cannot see the future.
The dollar is supported by the US military power. The bitcoin is supported by the network of people's will. Bitcoin might win. |

The dollar is very susceptible to losing its vaunted reserve currency position. While the dollar looks more and more like the Titanic, bitcoin is becoming the little lifeboat you really may want to be on, just much sooner than you ever imagined. |
