That is really great job and that would be helpful for new players to know the meaning of some words in gambling terms, keep it up that spirit Wink

Definitely a nice extensive list. You might also want to add terms related to poker like the flop/turn/river   .

Agreed, great list! Although I have gambled both online and in real casinos, I still came across many new terms and had terms I had heard before more clearly defined.

Great job. Vote for sticky. Smiley

This kind of glossary could be useful to the new gamblers, but are you sure the following two entries are alright?

Dollar: $100.

Fifty Cents: $50.

Nice.  I also agree that it should be stickied.  Or maybe make another sub forum for gambling education, for noobs?  Or anyone looking to improve their knowledge about a particular game.

There are independent websites that do this better, I think putting this sort of glossary here is a waste. Just a couple of examples:

http://www.docsports.com/gambling-terms.html
http://www.casino-info.com/casino-tips/dictionary-a-b.html
http://cardshark.us/glossary_frs.shtml

I don't think that this should be stickied at all. I am sorry but I don't see any usefulness of this, if someone wants to learn about a particular game there are various sites available on the internet which provide much broader explanation on that.

And unless we're going to start giving educational lessons on Gambling now this is pretty much useless. No offense.

No worries Sir. I just post that because you know others are lazy to do google plus it only has a basic meaning. If they want a full description of the term they can search more on the web. Smiley

As I see, your thread is just like a copy-paste from other sites. IMHO it would be better if you put the source link in the OP where did you get all the terms..

Damn that is a very thorough OP harizen, must have taken you a while to compile all of that information & type it out unless you C&P'd it Wink

Very useful though to gambling noobs & possibly experienced punters too. I know everything there is to know about the types of games/sports that I bet on but great thread. Really big help for the community, good man.

Edit - Just saw a few posts up that you copied & pasted it all. Nevertheless thanks for sharing such a great post, I'm sure it'll be a big help to many fellow bitcoin gamblers Grin

Probably need to add:

Dice : A game of odds, played at Da Dice. Grin

Provably Fair

Server seed

Client seed

Nonce

PvP

Confirmation (sites usually require 1 to 3 confirmations)

etc.

Your list doesn't include common "Bitcoin" related terms. All are too casino related.
You need to add terms relevant to this board and players, to make it useful for the players here.

Edit:
Dollar: $100.

Fifty Cents: $50.

Im thinking of removing it while I editing that post but in the end I decided to include that too.

Well, the question is how does Dollar equate to $100? and how is 50 cents make $50 Huh

Thanks for compiling the list. Cheesy

As I know "dollar=$100 & fifty cents = $50" are just betting slang terms (mostly in sports betting). So when a bettor said that he bet a "dollar" means he bet $100. Just like another term "dime" for $1000 bet.

I would also include details of rake back for poker sites.  Possibly also different variation of poker games but maybe that could be too much or for a different category.  Still though, rake back is general enough and then maybe something about the blinds, big and little.  Free rolls too... I see free play which is about the same thing... still good to show the different terms though
