What just happened in the test match between England and Ireland, 20 wickets fell in one day which is crazy to see. I didn't get to watch the match but it would of been good to see as to why so many wickets fell in one day. Can Ireland get the win and put England on the back foot ahead of the Ashes series? Ireland are in a strong position currently leading by 122 runs with England starting their second innings 0/0.

I guess so Ireland will get the win and will take down england badly. That's based on how I see their standings from the previous game they had. Although England had their best players, but I still prefer the courage and teamwork of Ireland. As strong position leads their way to another potential wins, they should be more focus on their team goals.

Soon after such a big winning of the world cup England will be watched around. Now giving such a performance is really bad. Another side it shows the improving bowling line up of Ireland. The second day of the match will show what's gonna happen to the match result. A strong comeback is a must in the second innings is a must for England to win the match.

I would call it as an accident unless they can perform well now. It was almost impossible for me to believe England was packed for 85 only in their first innings. However, the match will have an interesting result which I'm waiting for.

Some times a team may have bad day like England had yesterday and they were all out for 85. But i do not think they will repeat the same performance today in their 2nd innings. Ireland have to get them cheaply out, if they want to win this test match. England can still pull out this test if they manage to give 250+ target to Ireland.

The 2nd day is yet to be started. I guess Ireland has a big chance even if England can score a big one. Ireland, at the moment, is leading by 122 runs which is pretty good standing. If they can manage to restrict England in 350 runs in 2nd innings of England, I believe the chase will not be hard for Ireland.

True but you must have to count the fact that both are two different formats of cricket. For ODI, their batting line-up definitely the best one at the moment but for a test match, I guess it's not enough. Anyway, 85 is an accident though. They will recover in the upcoming innings.

Although England did win the ODI world cup but this does not mean that their test team is so low quality that they get out on so low score. That was just a bad day for them. And you mean to say that England test team is not enough good to play against the Ireland ? You need to think again.

You are missing the point here. The current English test side does not include all the World Cup winning team players which is why it is unfair to compare in this manner.

I am afraid this is no excuse to defend England that the test team members are different than the ODI ones and hence they perform bad against Ireland.
Check the ranking of England and Ireland of the test matches and you will find that England test ranking is far superior than the Ireland.

This is now getting worse, I think, my personal opinion only. We are getting cross-post which may increase spam as a result after some days. People will discuss the same in both threads.

Its now difficult to track what people are discussing about cricket. Those who are cricket lovers and does not want to miss any post for cricket will be now have to read 4 threads. 2 already mentioned above and for T20 we have this one  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5102095.0   
And the one I am posting now is the main old thread 

I am all open for community feedback. If I see there are not much activities on those topics then I won't hesitate to lock them. But I agree with others that we need different topics for different format of cricket.

If you look at football then you will see that they have different topics for different leagues. Like for EPL, CL, Serie A etc. Plus they have these pools in the separate thread. When we will have specific topics then it's more useful to discuss in dept. Everything in a topic most of the times miss important conversations.

This is the main thread for cricket discussion. We can get all the discussion here. On occasion like world cup, ipl, champion trophy, we can create a thread and discuss there.

Now that we have 3 threads, people will discuss the same in at least two of the threads. One in main thread, another in t20 or test (depends on format).
It will increase spam in the long run. Now, people can say locking this thread which I would not agree. It's an old thread which must be kept alive.

Would be happy to hear other people opinion.
My focus is to reduce spam.

Royse or you have no control on locking this thread (even if you wish to lock it). Regarding this thread, there is only issue of warning message, which i already discussed here but no vain. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5141475.msg51830411#msg51830411)
For me, i would like  one cricket thread so i do not have to click all the 4 topics on cricket every time.

Can we have some turn around in this test match as England are 174 runs ahead and 1 wicket left. If Ireland can bat well in second innings then they could win the first test against England and this would be the a great result for them and boost their confidence as beating England in England is never easy for a side like Ireland.

Ireland have a big chance to win their first ever test match and against one of the top test cricket teams in the world. It will be tough chasing anything over 180 runs which they must if they want to win. If England can get a 200+ run lead then it will make it extremely tough for Ireland but with a lot of time left in the match Ireland can take their time batting.

Well, we can always use the "Report to moderator" button if we find someone spamming or discussing the same topic on multiple threads. IMO, we can keep this thread for general discussion of cricket and use the remaining three threads to talk about the relevant format series in them. I don't see any issue in it TBH.

End of day 2 England leads with 181 runs and a wicket in hand. Broad and Stone seems to be strong, stone has faced ten balls without a single run. On the other side Broad stands at 21, maybe this partnership will add another 30 runs. This time England might have planned to attack through the bowling. Anyhow its an opportunity for Ireland to make its first win in test. Third day end will give the result of the match.

I do agree with you, having everything clustered into one thread looks like a degenerated spam by the users who are not aware of cricket, after all it is just four threads and it is not a big deal to monitor these threads and there are not much users who discuss in cricket threads, so that we can have more clarity in our discussion if everything is not clustered together and that is my opinion.

Anyhow its an opportunity for Ireland to make its first win in test. Third day end will give the result of the match.

Ireland does have a rare opportunity to win a test match here and it will be a historic win if they are able to achieve it, one good session could change the entire match and that is what happened in this test match.
