Mahela Jayawardene: Cricket needs the ICC World Test Championshiphttps://www.icc-cricket.com/media-releases/1296815I agree with Mahela Jayawardene. It'd be amazing if we can get a world cup of the Test format!

If cricket wants to grow in to a global sport, then it needs to adapt with the changing times. Test cricket is definitely not compatible with the current circumstances. Earlier people used to have a lot of free time, and it was possible to devote 5 days to watching a test match once a month or so. But life has become more hectic now and we need to popularize the shorter format of the game, if we want to attract more people.

Sri Lanka just whitewashed Bangladesh in their three match ODI series. Sri Lanka have bounced back strong after a poor World Cup and Bangladesh has done the opposite after having a pretty good World Cup campaign.
The Ashes start later today, this is one series I have been looking forward to since the start of the year as I'm interested to see how Australia perform with Warner and Smith playing in the test team again. I still think England will win the Ashes but it will be a close fought series, maybe England win 3-2.

Currently Bangladesh is not good without Shakib they have to think about this because they need some good and quality players for tough competitions as now we have Test World Championship and World Twenty/20 is also coming they try to bring some good true all-rounders like Shakib otherwise they are going more down.

An unexpected white wash happened for Bangladesh who had played so well in the world cup and now lost to SL which is not the best of the sides at the present moment by 3-0 and this would definitely hurt the team as their confidence would be shaken by it.

My prediction is that England will probably win 2-0 and 1 match will be drawn. Joe Root and David Warner are the players to focus on in my opinion in terms of batsmen. Starc and Anderson are the bowlers to focus on. Currently Bangladesh is not good without Shakib they have to think about this because they need some good and quality players for tough competitions as now we have Test World Championship and World Twenty/20 is also coming they try to bring some good true all-rounders like Shakib otherwise they are going more down.
That is exactly what I suggested earlier in my posts. I don't get why they keep out of form players like Iqbal, Rubel etc in their lineup even after seeing their dismal performances in the World Cup this year.

A disappointing series for Bangladesh. Though Bangladesh played without their key players like Shakib, Liton they should win a minimum one match with this team. I think, bowling department was decent but they collapse on batting. Especially, one of their best batsman Tamil is not getting run for many matches. Also, Bangladesh was poor in fielding, especially in the last match.

Today after long wait we have one of best series in progress but first day is very disappointed for Visitors as they lost 5 wickets very quickly and England bowlers dominating Broad and Woakes not giving chance to any Aussies batsman we have last pair on crease as Smith and Paine trying best for some reasonable score but look like Aussies going not going to touch 250 figure. Edit Paine gone so now 200 is very difficult for Aussies.

Its good to have a thread just dedicated to test match cricket however I don't see the need for this thread anymore as there are dedicated threads for test match, T20 and I don't know if there is one for ODI but if there is, then there is no need for this thread.

They need to stop all this drama. They need to admit that they stole the world cup from New Zealand and move on. Billions of people were watching the match live and Stokes never asked the umpire to retract his decision. These shameless guys won the world cup by doing cheating and after that now they want to claim the moral high ground as well.

England did play well till the 25th over of the NZ innings from where the NZ starting dominating. Its no use to start the discussion again on who was the actual deserving winner of the world cup when the decision cannot be changed.

I would say England is on a pretty good situation after Day2. They are trail by just 17 runs and have 6 wickets in hand. Australia needs some quick wickets to come back on this match. Rory burns played an outstanding inning of 125 runs. And stokes is also in the crease so England will be hoping to put as much as runs on the board. Day 3 is going to be very interesting, it can decide the winner of this match.

England is trail by a small difference. The winning percentage of Australia is very low and England has got an overall percentage of growth stating more than 75% Few wickets on the starting of the match will increase the winning probability.

Wahab Riaz didn't play much in test format. Only 27 matches within this longer period of his career. I think he could still play some more years. He is enough fit yet.

I don't think that the England team is at fault here since it was the ICC rules that were messed up. The problem here is that the English players are themselves not happy with the win(Eoin Morgan literally stated that the ending was unfair). Now, these guys are contradicting each other. It is pretty sad to see a winner lament despite winning(According to ICC) and it goes to show how certain rules need to be restructured asap.

I think it's good that Pakistani senior cricketers know that they need to retire and give the chance to the junior players. Previously we had this bad habit that the players never announce retirement and the cricket board had to forcefully retire them. They need to stop all this drama. They need to admit that they stole the world cup from New Zealand and move on. Billions of people were watching the match live and Stokes never asked the umpire to retract his decision. I think that ICC will get good experience from this world cup experience and will introduce some better rules for the next world cup.
