Seems like USA won this one. UK had the choice between becoming USA good little dog and staying in EU, they chose!

No - thats not quite true. Is the UK the US's lapdog ? Yes. Has been for a long time - in or out of the EU. But have you ever considered that the EU itself might be the lapdog of the US ?

Reason I visited this thread (and I try not to visit Wilikons threads if I can help it) is to pass comment on Trumps comments today on the Brexit.
I personally voted Leave. And so it was with some surprise that when the journalists today tried to coax out of Trump a controversial remark about the referendum/Cameron/the leave vote, he merely chose to comment that the result was a good thing because it meant that the UK had taken back control of its own country - and that it would in no way alter the good relationship between the US and the UK.

I don't think he was bullshitting or riding the wave neither, I think he meant it. This is to his credit.

Seems like he would like the citizens of the US to take this kind of initiative also - but who are they going to leave ?

I am hoping and wishing that Trump becomes the next president, I think he will be good for all, and hope to see good relations with every country he goes to visit.

My only reservation, is that the wrong people will advise him to be a cop out with foreign policy.

Further, when you are running for President, and you don't take the time to be accurate, this means that your whole campaign is a lie.

Agreed that people shouldn't be looking for leaders. But the system isn't changing anytime soon. And not everyone can move to belize either. For now an alternative to voting trump or hillary could be gary johnson. I know third parties haven't done well in america in a long time. But he wasn't doing too bad in the polls. 12%. With 15% he would be included in the debates. I don't agree with a lot he says. But it could be good to have a more libertarian perspective presented to people.

Isn't it basically,

"Dude!  Stop moving around so we can hit you!  Nothing we say sticks!  We want to shoot your arguments and your attitude dead!  So you need to get up real close and stand really still because we aren't very good shots!  And shut up, too!  Don't distract us while we're aiming."

<Disclaimer, using "shooting" only to make the point.  Not advocating shooting anyone, lol>
