Check out the staggering hypocrisy in this CRF/Google operation...

http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2012/07/google-ideas-joining-fight-against-drug.html

> "It’s clear that illicit networks—particularly those that are violent and coercive like drug smugglers, arms dealers and human traffickers—have a devastating human and financial impact on every nation."

Fact is, the most violent, coercive organizations on this planet are governments.  They use violence to extract sustenance from victims.  They have murdered hundreds of millions of human beings in the last century.  Yet, if anyone else tries to emulate their grift, they become "illicit".

Their hypocrisy is staggering.

Mafia.gov printing up money to spend = "quantitative easing".  You doing the same = "counterfeiting".

Mafia.gov licensing doctors and Big Pharma monopolies to deal drugs = "Health Care".  You researching and employing chemistry = "Dangerous Illicit Quackery".

Mafia.gov sending out men with guns to collect money = "Revenue".  You using coercion to collect money from the prosperous = "Extortion"

> "Recently, we’ve expanded our focus to include violent illicit networks such as narco-trafficking, human trafficking, organ harvesting and arms dealing. We believe that technology has the power to expose and dismantle global criminal networks, which depend on secrecy and discretion in order to function".

Notice how they emphasize the very ugly, but minor aspects of the occult economy such as sex trafficking, terrorism, and slavery, while subtly including the one the really care about Money "Laundering" which has the potential to starve these predators out of existence.

> "We think Google can help".

Darn right Google can help.  Similar to giant government contractor Microsoft, they will most definitely employ their vast resources and expertise to help perfect this massive criminal enterprise and ensure the benefits accrue only to the Elites they represent.

Here is a video about BitCoin Cyber Money Laundering and how they will "protect" us from it...

They are frustrated that they cannot track and catalog the actual amounts of money, so they are focusing on Traffic Analysis.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traffic_analysis

Private electronic currencies have the potential to deprive governments of trillions of dollars. That's why I'm supporting them.

If that is true, then surely a Libertarian government would also be evil?
True.

Using the threat of violence to coerce others is evil, regardless of how you dress it up.

Most of these Libertarian threads seem to attempt to build their arguments on the shaky ground that governments are evil in general. If that is true, then surely a Libertarian government would also be evil? Smiley

Which is why a completely principled libertarian is called an anarchist.

Their hypocrisy is staggering.

Interestingly, if a man does a terrorist attack against US interests and blows up a building and kills some people, then he goes to jail forever.

If the US Govt blows up innocent people with drone attacks in Pakistan or any other country, nobody get put in jail.

Governments are indeed evil.  Libertarians endorse that evil.  That is why I am not a Libertarian.

Your comment indicates you have not performed the philosophical distillation necessary to prune away sophistry and accept the axiom of self-ownership.

I empathize with your reluctance to do so.  The process is uncomfortable.

Does this axiom cover such ideas as looking after others

Yes, it does.  It demonstrates that each human being, beginning with yourself, rationally has value, and should thus be respected and cherished.

Seriously.  Look into the Non-Aggression Principle: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-aggression_principle

It's pretty cool.

I could even paint it in an Objectivist style and suggest that it's OK to be generous, since you're really just being selfish and are sensibly keeping yourself safe by keeping the pitchfork-toting peasants happy.

It's not even that callous. You're doing it because it makes you happy. And you value that sense of self-satisfaction over however much money you gave. Just like watching a movie, you're doing it for the experience of doing it. Simple economics.

You said you're the antichrist? I'm going to have to ask you to step inside for a moment.
