On this new version of wallet, I didn't get any rewards from staking - does it have to wait more than on older version?
Because on older version I get staking rewards everytime I connect to the network.
The new version computes the data required for staking for all utxos in your wallet before starting to stake - which will take a while (a few minutes) if your wallet has many of them.
Also, it stops staking when you have less than 3 connections. I put that in because staking on a node with just a single connection often resulted in me mining my own fork.
Perhaps we should make that one configurable...

weirder...
Cannot send coins anymore...

ERROR: CTransaction::CheckTransaction() : vin empty
ERROR: CTxMemPool::accept() : CheckTransaction failed
CommitTransaction() : Error: Transaction not valid

Now this one is weird. I can send coins normally from my wallet. Does this happen with the previous version of the walltet too?
Scratch that, I was using an older version... Using the newest develop version, I get this exact error too. Staking doesn't appear to work either.

I extended it for 2 months (until 2019-03-09)

I can't install the wallet on High Sierra 10.13.6. It says "“SLIMCoin-Qt.app” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash."

I installed wallet one more time, this time it opened. Okay step one is complete ) Gonna try to create slimcoin.conf file. Or maybe I can download it somewhere?

Slim is still not back to coinmarketcap? Any chance it'll be back on map someday? Without being on CMC it's like Slim doesn't even exist (

Looks like PART is going to be pumped x5 pretty soon, same as last year. If it's going to happen I'll have some free btc to shake Slim price a bit.

Would that make sense? Is development in progress and Slim alive?

That's more of a question to @d5000.

I have dusted off social media accounts, and updated a few things, but don't know how is d5000 or what he is doing.

I'm currently not at home for some days (and do not have access to the Slimcoin Community account), but I'll add them ASAP - at most in the first days in February. Thanks!

Thanks also to @iguanodon1 for the bugfix (I'll try out the code ASAP) and the block explorer extension. Until March I'll try to launch an experimental ACME instance on my Slimcoin node, so if everything goes right (I doubt it  Grin) then we could have an "own" block explorer again at that date, even if it probably will have its issues.

Maybe Slim needs some kind of relaunch? Same way like it was with BTCD to KMD or SDC to PART. It was possible to swap BTCD coins to KMD within a year and swap SDC coins to PART within a month or two. And then KMD and PART were a completely new projects with new blockchains and new opportunities.

If we do the same for Slim devs can even add 20-30% new coins and make ICO. That would give them possibility to create whatever they want to create on blockchain. For example after switch from SDC to PART the team created 10% more coins and that is a development fund.

Since devs are still working on Slim I guess it means they want to achieve something, right? So that would be possible with a fresh start. And Slim is an old and established project which says a lot about dedication of its devs who are still developing it even without any funds. That would be a good reason to trust them and investment it new project.

Slimcoin's PoS (based on Peercoin) is more secure, than PoSv2/PoSv3, according to this article: https://medium.com/@dsl_uiuc/fake-stake-attacks-on-chain-based-proof-of-stake-cryptocurrencies-b8b05723f806
But also affected by 2nd exploit, which is being fixed by Peercoin developers.

It's great, coz it means Slim has something to offer.

But I'm afraid in current state, with no funding, no road map it'll just slowly die. With an ICO it can develop into something.

I wouldn't go ICO way too.
It's a risky to have investors money on behalf, especially when there are underdelivered promises.
I think we should go Peercoin's way - they are welcoming everyone, that want to help on their board, and integrate their new fixes and released version (as long as it's possible).

Peercoin will rebase this year on newest Bitcoin codebase.

I could understand it if Slim has at least some clear development plans, published road map. But it only has a couple of devs who do what they can, now and then. More like a small home project. Why would anyone wanted to buy Slim while everything this way? And if you don't want anyone be interested in buying Slim then why work on it at all? I mean what's the point, really? I've been following Slim for almost 2 years and nothing really happened since then, except that it disappeared from CMC, which is the only popular list of coins and the price went to zero.

It's on coingecko and coinpaprika. CMC is providing old data anyway, it's always outdated, I know it's the most popular, but it will be phased out in a future, like poloniex and bittrex were replaced. About Slimcoin there isn't clear path, because @gjhiggins isn't active for now, and @d5000 was occupied with his work. I also work on something else, but try to provide info if there is something new.
