This all scares me because I have invested $400 in BFL.

WIsh I had of read this stuff a bit sooner.

BUt I guess its only about a months worth of mining for me.

Fuck scammers though. If its true, I hope the CEO of BFL goes back to jail.

I don't think it's a blatent deliberate scam, more a case of unfortunate delays making the market lose confidence.

I paid by PayPal, 2 Singles ($1386) in order to get some protection, when it became obvious that the product would not ship before the PayPal 45 day rule I raised a ticket stating that I specifically did not want my order cancelled but I was opening a resolution ticket to raise my concerns about potential non delivery of product.

Paypal didn't respond but almost by return I was issued a credit note by Butterfly and my order cancelled, a few days later and my PayPal account is refunded in full.

Yes, I've lost my place in the queue, but to be honest - if there are 30,000 pre-orders and an additional unspecified wait, then the advantage of getting into ASIC mining has passed and the economics do not work. It's a shame, but this is the best outcome. I was too late to the party, and I chose the wrong supplier.

IMHO The smart money bought shares in ASICMiner, but alas they are no longer available either.

That's simply not the case. If you search these very forums you will find that the COO of BFL(BFL_Josh/Inaba) among others at BFL have been misleading lying to investors about shipping dates and power consumption estimates for months. Continuously leading investors to believe that BFL could ship any day and verbally attacking anyone that questioned their perfect 1w/Gh "estimates". This has been going on since at least September of 2012. The evidence is all over this forum, you've only to seek it.

...and ASICMiner shares are available in abundance.

I have added on another topic that BFL takes a cut when refunding customers over paypal payments. I have included a screenshot for people to see.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=136392.msg1774005#msg1774005

I would exercise caution if you plan to order from BFL as they have not been very honest with their shipping dates and 1GH/1W power consumption rates as was promised previously to pre-order customers.

The proof is in the pudding; until I see BFL shipping and delivering on what was promised, I will not bank on them. For now, they stink of scam.

Just a point of fact, this JML guy is completely fabricating the whole "BFL takes a cut" stuff.  It is patently false and ludicrous.  100% incorrect information.  BFL does not now, nor has ever taken any sort of additional funds when refunding a customer.

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it.  There was never anything there in the first place.

Inaba, have a look at the link and then come back. How can you explain the adjustment fee?

Who are you?  INABA?   I would feel better if BFL_Josh would make this statement, not some guy named Inaba.   What information do you have for us that would indicate you are worthy of trust?  Didn't you say you would be shipping next week after you won your BET?   When is "next week" when you are posting on March 31, 2013?

@Inaba, I am aware that you may be associated with BFL and you are dismissing my claim easily, so I will submit my invoice and credit notes here as screenshots with personal details omitted. All I am asking is for clarification as to why I have on the refund note a fee charged on the original sum I have paid for. It might be something as stupid as a software error on your billing platform.

This is the invoice when I purchased the Jalapeno:

Nice fish tank! Maybe you can add battery operated fish that swims around for an extra hashing power! Tongue

I can't say if BFL is a scam or not but no one has ever lost money betting against them on bitbet.us or betsofbitco.in :-/

I have seen those sites, but I don't think I'll gamble my bitcoins. Who knows if BFL would put hamsters running in a wheel to do the hashing instead of ASIC chips inside the black boxes with fans Wink

I can confirm this, my PayPal refund was for the entire amount.

Code:
31 Mar 2013	Currency Conversion Completed Details $1,386.00 USD
 8 Apr 2013 Refund                  Completed ...          $1,386.00 USD
8 Apr 2013 Currency Conversion Completed Details -$1,386.00 USD

Still of the opinion that it wasn't set up as a scam in the first place but they are keeping customers hanging on for kit that if it does every ship will already be too slow and out of date. There is evidence that they have build something, why would you bother if it was an outright scam?

concerning delivery times, an Apr 9 email to me from BFL  said

"so new pre-orders, regardless of product or power consumption, will likely ship sometime in late July or early August,

sooner if possible"

I can only assume they have taken my money and run. No contact from them since my order in july 2012 (apart from a couple of news letters) and no response to my emails. They dont even sell the product I ordered now.

So do they even have the production capacity to make 400 units a day (as some have estimated) with 1 mydata m9 pick and place machine and the other 2 different machines they bought? Shouldn't they be buying more machines with all that pre-order money to fill their pre-orders ASAP?
