Those who supplied the miners during the gold rush made the most money.

Actually, I'd bet it was those who taxed both the miners and the suppliers... Wink

No income tax back then.

i.e.The federal income tax was passed by Congress in the Revenue Act of 1913.

..that year rings a bell.

I don't think they manage to ship those machines. If they can build such machines, they use them themselves to mine coins and sell them when mining is unprofitable

I assumed Butterfly Labs was like Duke Nukem Forever. You dream about it for years until you finally forget about it and then one day it comes out and you no longer care.

Laughing at my roommate who gave thousands to BFL half a year ago. Still waiting on those miners. Meanwhile, I'm sitting pretty with ltc GPU miners that I can buy at any retail store.

Yeah I'm curious what will become of them.  The recent video they released seem so sketchy and fake.

I have this feeling that all the idiots who scream that BFL is a scam will just disappear and make new accounts later this year. And there will be a few nuts that believe that hundreds of forum users are being paid by BFL to act like they got working ASIC's.
I will stay.

BLF are the parents

Keep on waiting and watch the expected shipping date be extended by a month at
a time to infinity.

I can think of some other acronyms for "BFL"

Some rumors they have some kind of prototype working: http://bitcoinmagazine.com/bitcoin-developer-receives-first-butterfly-labs-asic/
Question remains of course if and when they will be shipping.

Apparently a couple have shipped to developers.

It's speculated that BFL have started to use the HW for themselves since the BTC rise a few months back. Maybe there are also some serious HW/SW bugs to catch and fix.
