1 GHash/s = 1,000 Mhash/s so 6.8 Ghash

I always wondered about that - cos really it should be 1024MH/s (call me pedantic)

I know the difference is not much, but it really does add up, if you are running a decent set up (like my upgraded LS & Jalapeno will be putting out a combined 37GH/s - which if it was 1024MH/s per Gh/s would be the equivalent of an extra 888MH/s)

Why do you think it should be 1024 MH?  These aren't bytes... (or bits, from whence your confusion likely springs)

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it.  There was never anything there in the first place.

Correct. It's just a standard metric system (giga) prefix meaning 109 Even hard drive manufactures use even 1,000s when specifying size--the 210 multiplier only applies to RAM as far as I know.

Yup - that was where my initial confusion came from - logic dictated that it would be a straight 1000, but some tiny bit of me wanted that extra 24 (it is my optimistic side, and therefore tiny, sadly)

At least I have the right of it now. Cheers Smiley

I'd agree and say that it is confusing. A lot of people just use it incorrectly, and aren't aware of the difference between a megabyte (MB) and a mebibyte (MiB) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mebibyte

I requested a refund and I had it within a day back in my PP.

The reason was I don't want BTC anymore. I prefer LTC.

Really, how much did they refund you? Can you black out your info on the PP statement and post it for us to see? I don't believe you. I think you are just another BFL sock puppet account.

I was going to order from here, but decided not to. Seems like if everyone had pooled their money in bitcoin last year instead of equipment...they'd be much further ahead. Instead, Butterfly labs did that for you  Undecided

When you will receive your jalapeno after 3-4 months you won't get payback of your investment for long time - check how diff rise in this month...

A $300 jalapeño will ROI in 2 months right now.

True but a single would roi in under a week.

One retail single has been shipped, "more" coming this week according to BFL. Once my little single arrives I'll be sure to post pics, I have an early order
