I got banned for posting for 1 month. who have the same experience like me? What is the minimum number of posts per day. Can anyone help me?

I do not think that there is a minimum of posts. I have been registered without posting many months, and never got banned.

What did you do to get banned? You're on a signature campaign, did you do lots of crappy short posts?
I've never been banned so I have nothing to base your fate on.

This thread doesn't belong here though bro, you should have posted it in Meta - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=24.0

The only people I have seen banned have been people who just spam constantly or are attempting to impersonate and scam. I wouldn't worry about being banned.

Im sure that scammers dont get banned.

The main reasons for a ban is trolling or spamming.

Check this thread for forum rules:

You will get ban by

1. Spamming - spam posts + signature campaign
2. Trolling
3. Posting viruses and malware.
4. Permabanned if you are caught using another account while your other account is currently banned.
5. Your account will get auto locked if you forget your password and use the secret word to recover your account.

you can also get banned for posting off-topic replies and insubstantial or low quality posts repeatedly. it doesn't have to be a spam.

I actually reported one of OP's post on july 4th (I assume that's when he got banned) because it doesn't make any sense with the topic.

I don't think it's from the quality of posts since I was really thinking what will I write in my posts.. As I remember it is related to "Abused in Posting" which means I posted more than the maximum posts per day... This happened to me twice. the first one, I got banned for 2 weeks. I just recovered my account now.

I was new to signature campaign. and may be you were right that I got banned from spamming posts + signature campaign.. What I was curious is that what is the limit of posts per day when I'm in Signature campaign so I won't get ban? And when I was banned I could do nothing, I needed to wait until they remove the ban. Hope this will not happen to anyone.

there is no limit on the number of posts per day, but the problem is insubstantial/spammy posts that dont add to the thread or go off topic. if your posts were doing that consistently, then that wouldve been the cause of your ban.

theres nothing here. message me if you want to put something here.

It's really bad that there is no warning. The prompt that says "You are banned for posting for 1 month...." appeared on my screen.. This happened to me twice, the first one was I got banned for 2 weeks then for 1 month.. But I can read the topics and open my account, what just I couldn't do was to post and reply.

Anyone running a signature campaign is going to be a target of selective enforcement here, as they are in direct competition with selling forum ads, which is the main source of income for the forum, and even possibly indirectly the source of the staff/moderators pay.

There is no minimum number of posts that you need to make. In fact you are/were probably making too many posts, or at least not putting in enough effort into each post.

You should take your two bans as a warning to put more effort into your posts, and to not make insubstantial posts.

Many others have had a similar experience as you because a lot of people put in little effort into their posts because they are trying to get paid from their signature.

Oh come on if they target signature users here there would be a lot more bans, you're just a bit biased in this area due to a disagreement with the staff. The guy was probably just posting nonsense non stop.

The problem is that if you have a signature that pays you for your posts (PPP or fixed) mods might see low quality posts in a different light. If you have no paid signature in the first place the question whether you only post to get payment does not even come up.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

Yes, this happened to me a few times (not sure exactly). I do admit that my posts were bad back then. I think all of the bans occurred in 2014, but I'm not sure. I did PM BadBear about it, and he did give a nice explanation with some tips. A combination of a high number of posts + low quality + signature campaign will most likely get you punished.

Looking at your account it seems that you were banned on July 4th. That day you've made 19 posts and you probably drew attention, unless you were already reported by some moderator. I do not have enough time right now to analyze all of your posts, however if I look at only posts made on June 28th, it is pretty much clear to me. I see 10 one liners, and a few other shorts posts (again, no time to asses quality of each).

It is okay to make mistakes, I accidentally showed some support to tspacepilot in his war again QS a few months ago because I replied too quickly.  I've had situations where my post contained ~300 words (however, it is not all about length but the discussion of quality needs a separate thread) and the next poster (also a signature campaign participant) posted a one liner. That post took almost 30 minutes to properly get written with research.

The point of this is that people make mistakes, and one must definitely spend a lot more time reading before replying (unless you're the first one to reply).

Their paycheques come from ads and donations. They don't care about signature campaigns.

Signatures? How about learning a skill... I don't care either way. Everybody has to make a living somehow.

Thanks for the info. I guess it's the quality of the posts I made. I should be careful nextime and takes time to read all the posts and replies. However, I wanted to know if I'll still get ban if I posted a lot but this time my posts were with good quality?

You're posting just to post, and it's obvious from reading your posts.

Here's an easy example that is pretty objective and quantifiable. You didn't even realize you've already responded to this thread, because you don't care about the thread or it's contents.

thank you so much for this list
i hope you would keep it up since there are so many scammers and spammers here in the forum  Grin

thanks for this list, its very nice to get the trolls out of the way in this forum

On top of that, you aren't even using the list, so I'm not sure why you are so eager to thank him multiple times for it. You also don't post in speculation, which is what that is for.

You need to take the warnings more seriously, you've been banned twice now. Please stop.

One factor that makes litecoin lower in value compared to bitcoin is that there are only a total of 21 million bitcoins available while litecoin can reach up to 84 million based on its mining algorithms. With this, some analysts believe that litecoin can offer a psychological advantage to bitcoin, as consumers often prefer to have transactions in whole units instead of fractions. Litecoin also enjoys a faster speed of transaction compared to bitcoin, as the former takes only 2.5 minutes while the latter needs 9 minutes. But at the end of the day Bitcoin is much better than Litecoin since the number of crowd who use Bitcoin is greater. And cryptocurrencies live only because of the population who used it, if the population drops the currency will drop. But with Bitcoin as the founder of all the currencies, the integrity and stability is much stronger than litecoin. It earn the trust of lots people and it will surely live longer.  It can still be a future currency of the world, and many believe of that.

http://www.newsbtc.com/2015/04/21/bitcoin-or-litecoin/

That's a very good question. But this depends a lot on how you handle your wallet. If you are careful about it and make sure you have an off-site backup of your wallet (or use a deterministic or paper wallet, etc) then you can easily pass your wallet and all the coins it contains to anyone you choose in the same ways that you can pass on other property. Of course if you're the only person with access to the wallet and have not planned anything then yes, your bitcoins will be "lost in the network."

A day ago I was thinking if bitcoin is a currency or a technology since it's a tech stock.  Now, for the uninitiated, Bitcoin is supposed to be the online currency that will free us from state-backed ones. It's a cryptographically-sophisticated virtual currency you can use to buy real things over peer-to-peer networks without leaving a trace in the real world. The idea is to create money that central banks can't debase and governments can't tax. In other words, digital gold. Actually, make that anonymous digital gold.

Anyone running a signature campaign is going to be a target of selective enforcement here, as they are in direct competition with selling forum ads, which is the main source of income for the forum, and even possibly indirectly the source of the staff/moderators pay.
Oh come on if they target signature users here there would be a lot more bans, you're just a bit biased in this area due to a disagreement with the staff. The guy was probably just posting nonsense non stop.

Believe whatever you like. Does any of that change that fact that that is where their paycheck comes from?
Their paycheques come from ads and donations. They don't care about signature campaigns.

Thanks for the info. I guess it's the quality of the posts I made. I should be careful nextime and takes time to read all the posts and replies. However, I wanted to know if I'll still get ban if I posted a lot but this time my posts were with good quality?
Well you definitely need to be very careful now. I'm pretty sure that if you do this mistake again that you will be permanently banned or banned for 2+ months.
Anytime a staff member gets the assumption that you're posting just for money you will be in trouble.

However, I've seen a lot of individuals reposting things that I post or others within the thread, and yet they did not get into trouble.
In my honest opinion, anyone posting nonsense or rewriting what others have said should be punished (if they are part of a signature campaign, it is obvious).

I did permaban him after seeing hilariousandco's post. Sad to see a hero member who's been here for a year and a half banned, but if a month ban didn't get the point across, nothing will.

Two points to add:

1) If you don't have a paying signature, you can post almost anything you want - as long as it's not complete nonsense, spam, or offensive to most people, and

2) A lot of signature campaigns are cracking down on post quality - and they should! They're either not counting many posts, reducing rates, or kicking people out of their campaigns. It's the best option, in my opinion, to keep post quality high and keep the annoyance of signature campaign posting at a minimum.

Learn from this...loose lips sing sigs!

lol no. you can post anything you want either way. it's just people that have paying signature gets more chance on getting under staffs' radar because, like badbear said, some of them are posting just to post.
