Edit:  Deleted the appData and tried a re-sync with the addnodes.
I can get to height 1607 but no further.

The explorer says the height is 1774, and hashmode's pool shows a height of 1774.

Its not a matter of having good nodes.
In my opinion its forked at this time.

The good news is my wallet seems to have resolved itself @ height 1634... so maybe the runaway chain is going nowhere now.

I was able to sync to 1586 -- but I had to remove the addnodes from the conf.
Using them pushes the height up a little.
