When will pos active?

The PoS hard fork will be released this week. We need to do some extensive testing to make sure it is of good quality.

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

I think stake interst rates are boaring...maybe
AMS should have focus on pow ...i know several coins get success on only pow ...but hardly know a coin that is successful and have pos.

well there should be a limit of stake.. such that you cannot hold more then this particular amount ...if you do ..coins will burnt instead of reward by pos...this will help removing bagholding as only rich get more rich in pos ..this fall into centralization...so we can solve buy negative reward in pos if you hold more then a particular amount.

This post shows your ignorance about crypto currencies. Please have a look at the current top 10 trading coins on Bittrex. Most (90%) have PoS functionality. Beside from that, our community asks for PoS (As the poll shows 80% of the votes) and we will deliver PoS. To be clear: AmsterdamCoin will be a hybrid coin and will NEVER be PoS only.

Even more ignorance: If we would apply such policy then users will spread there balance between multiple wallets and it will not help a thing. Burning options like you describe discourages people from holding AmsterdamCoin. I think they will even lose the most important thing: "Trust". AmsterdamCoin should be used as payment method in stores, that is our main goal. Your ideas do not fit this perspective.

Imagine that I hold my money on the bank and that the bank says, well, if you bring more money we will burn your money instead of paying interest. Does that sound good to you? It is crazy if you ask me.

only trading vol. does not represent success ...if the coin is so much good then why to sell against btc? because btc is successful ..it can be used to purchase thing and more then that usd.

i tell this type of pos because if there are only 1000k coins total and one hold 900k then he can swipe whole market...this should not be done .....and there is difference between bank and crypto ..in bank service/income tax taken on earned amount while in crypto it is not.

I am not even going to answer this in detail. It is a waste of time.

Joshafest why are you hating on AMS. Is it because you got kicked off the team because you don't know what you're doing? Don't come on here trolling because you're bitter the price has exploded without you. You've lost all credibility with me now so don't come in the yobit troll box fishing for information anymore. not cool son. not cool at all

guys, whats up with that fork on the network?

i noticed both aikapool and ams.maxminers are on block 176xxx  yet all nodes i find are on 172xxx...

do these pools run fullnodes? could you guys post ips for that? or could keesdewit perhaps point me to some nodes that are authoritative?

thanks!

Nothing wrong with the network. All my nodes are at the right block height:

./amsterdamcoind getblockcount
176983

Compared with: https://ams.maxminers.net/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool

Also aikapool is at the right block: https://aikapool.com/ams/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool

The main seed node is: 81.169.137.12

The master branch contains the current source. It should show version 1010000 so I think you compiled old source code.

{
"version" : 1010000,
"protocolversion" : 70002,
"walletversion" : 60000,
"balance" : 0.00000000,
"blocks" : 177112,
"timeoffset" : -2,
"connections" : 6,

"difficulty" : 1.14087008,
"testnet" : false,
"keypoololdest" : 1444413716,
"keypoolsize" : 101,
"paytxfee" : 0.00000000,
"mininput" : 0.00001000,
"errors" : ""
}

The version can be seen here also in the source:
https://github.com/CoinProjects/AmsterdamCoin/blob/master/src/clientversion.h
