I updated my block explorer to the latest wallet version.  It is still catching up on the blockchain and still hogging a lot of CPU & Mem resources.

I have a few deadlines to meet over the next week.  When I get through those I will help identify why my low resource node is stuggling to catch up.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Yes. You'll know it's working because the wallet will say "importing blocks"
Sadly it's not much faster than regular syncing.

I put in the %APPDATA/roaming/amsterdamcoin2/ folder, but nothing happened.

Did you unpack the zip so that a file called bootstrap.dat appears?
