We are Bitcoin enthusiasts that are attempting to publish research that provides a better understanding of bitcoin adoption. As you may know there is not just not much good quality research out there. My colleagues and I are trying to improve this situation. So far we have had moderate responses from our local bitcoin community but are hoping this forum may help. The survey link is below, it's honestly only a couple of questions.

Thanks guys.

I don't think you will get the specific data of Bitcoin adoption from this survey! Many ppl probably don't bother to do this survey and not every member will get the chance to view it!

Thanks for your feedback. I understand your views completely. Its always difficult to get people to do surveys. The results from this will be made available to users of the forum so that they may attain a better understanding of why people user cryptocurrencies.

You should probably post this on reddit to get a more varied sample of replies, in reddit there are 100.000+ registered users and usually around 1K online.

In regards to the red question, it acts as a control. It's a form of question that is often added to surveys.☺

I think people will use bitcoin because is very easy to make a payment.Another possitive thing is transparency.
You can send bitcoin around the world with low fees .
Only  0.0001 miner fee.

It is interesting how I see another survey here - on bitcointalk almost everyday. It is heartwarming that scientists and students of many branches took interest of political, scientific and economic impact of bitcoin on our lives... Now I see social studies notices bitcoin as well. What is sad however is that is that scientists usually only create one topic with their survey here and they are gone forever.

Without having nothing against you and your friends behind your love about bitcoin. And having nothing against your study about the better understanding the bitcoin adoption. You seems a very kind person and your intention seems really pure and without other interests except the aim of knowledge. But you must know that bitcoin is currency and the currency in itself mean payment, You will have data about currency and those data are money. Why don't share some of them with them who will help you to make some in the future?

i just want to add that i don't care that much about the anonymity that bitcoin offers (to some extent) i only use bitcoin because i like what it offers me for easy, fast, secure and cheep transactions

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.

Done, I think most of the questions was easy to answer. I have to say after the whole Snowden thing, I have started
to look into ways too make my life a bit more private. Foreign governments should not spy on citizens from other countries for no good reason, and it's becoming general practice now.

Bitcoin afforded me some sort of anonymity and I took it on as a experiment to see, if it was bs or real. So far it's been a great ride and I enjoyed it. ^hmf^

Just an update on the results so far. It seems that most respondents find bitcoin frustrating to use. Do you agree?

It's the response you get from the multiple failures of currency across the world. You have the spotlight of Greece the media put on about a month ago which sparked a scare. You saw an increase of bitcoin trading volumes and price that aligned perfectly with it. People honestly saw potential in Bitcoin as a long sustainable currency that wouldn't ball to governmental regulation which would, in a way, corrupt it.

I guess there are a number of reasons why people choose bitcoin. I know that many of my friends who work abroad use bitcoin to send money home. I personally love the technology behind.

That's a simple answer.

People choose cryptocurrencies over Banks because Banks charge high fees for international transactions.

Cryptos, on the other hand, have the ability to turn transaction costs into virtually ZERO costs. So Cryptos have become the killer app for entrepreneurs, freelancers, merchants and investors who deal in international markets and have the need to execute several international transactions. For them cryptos allows them to accumulate savings by cutting the costs.
