Operand - “In mathematics, an operand is the object of a mathematical operation, a quantity on which an operation is performed.” “In computing, an operand is the part of a computer instruction which specifies what data is to be manipulated or operated on, while at the same time representing the data itself.” In Operand, the transactional unit carries the execution methods and parameters that apply to the units of currency involved for that transaction. Operand is programmable money that brings the utility of everyday banking features to the unbanked and underbanked and empowers their adoption through the automata of the Operand protocol. Operand is a currency that functions as a seamless and embedded economic layer on the web that serves as the technological underlay for payments, decentralised exchange, digital asset invocation and transfer, and smart contract issuance and execution. By embedding the instruction set of the transaction into the transaction metadata, the blockchain itself serves as the interpreter for programmed transactions. Operand is therefore able to create utilities that already exist in consumer banking such as direct debit payments or even standing orders. But in addition to this, Operand is trustless and non-retractable whilst being fully accountable and transparent on the public ledger. The programmable aspect enables further security on every transaction as the clients must reach network consensus on the method of execution. Smart contracts can then be forged on all aspects of exchange. https://i.imgur.com/MYBwjBO.pngOperand separates financial services from a state regulated centralised system, to a user enabled decentralised system. Money is owned and controlled by the end user, government's have no power over your ownership of your money. https://i.imgur.com/YXASCfI.pngOperand is re-inventing the banking system for the digital age. Transfer money globally in a matter of seconds, take your funds anywhere in the world. Use pre-constructed scripted templates that enable Smart Money Management. . https://i.imgur.com/XrElKla.pngBuilt for the digital age, operand is driven by trustless protocols that do not require trusting third parties. The small interest is maintained through capital costs of holding the currency in our system of Proof-Of-Stake. This is an alternative solution to the larger environmental footprint of operating Proof-Of-Work systems like Bitcoin where there is a tendency leaning towards centralisation as a result of coinbase rewards going to miners with best cost efficiency (Hashes per unit of electricity). https://i.imgur.com/CFqRdCK.pngBorn and raised in London, he has always had an interest in the world of technology theorizing on how to revolutionize whatever he was interested in particularly. It wasn't until fellow members of his university's techsoc had spoken of bitcoin in his first year that triggered him to dedicate spare time outside his studies to extensively study and research cryptocurrency. It was through this that a wealth of concepts and ideas had been conceived with the hope to revolutionize aspects of the field that he saw could be improved upon or be introduced. Now a recent first class graduate of Physics at Kings College London armed With the strong perseverance towards success that had been honed throughout his undergraduate course has decided to dedicate his time to fulfill the aims of Operand to the best of his ability with the aid of his team. https://i.imgur.com/H4IUNl3.pngOperand is an ambitious project with a very simple goal. To make money programmable and enable use case’s outside of crypto that we currently see day to day in centralised banking systems. Several projects have their idea of how to realise Smart Contracts and Programmable Money, our vision involves building our own turing-complete scripting language in a trustless environment and of course decentralised. https://i.imgur.com/iPgcl93.pngBitcoin gave us a set of tools to build and explore the idea of programmable money. The protocol has been compared to TCP/IP in that it facilitates the transfer of wealth from party to party and the scripting ability is very much limited to applications of this, often with Multi-Signature transactions. Obviously, this is not an error and Bitcoin was designed this way for security, but what we’re left with is less programmable options on the blockchain. Operand aims to improve on Bitcoin’s limitations, and interpret Programmable Money through providing users with choice. Operand will not be limited to the transfer of ownership alone. Infact, with ‘OpCode’ you will be able to attach terms and conditions to the transaction. Ownership can be dependant on fulfillment of criteria or events. Furthermore, these attached conditions will be public and viewable on the ledger. https://i.imgur.com/7lGzLbO.pnghttps://i.imgur.com/To0wcW5.pnghttps://i.imgur.com/HGKtHh3.pngVisit our website for instructions on how to get started and invest into the crowd fund. www.operand.moneyhttps://i.imgur.com/kkoEJOO.pnghttps://i.imgur.com/aLLQRa1.pnghttps://i.imgur.com/xeOapgU.pnghttps://i.imgur.com/XSFi1Yd.pngBLOCKEXPLORERhttps://c-cex.com/i/c-cex_logo_h200.pnghttps://i.imgur.com/XGMLYAh.png

This sounds like an implementation of AT by CIYAM. https://ciyam.org/at/I believe IIRC there are currently 2 or 3 coins with AT support out currently.

Use of op code scripts are actually quite undeveloped right now. Thing is a-lot of people mistake tokens for blockchain service type 'coins' as a store of value or currency. Quite the opposite. We're seeing more and more 'Blockchain' uses outside of currency.

Interesting that after seemingly no activity since October 2015 the dev has returned to edit the OP but nothing else was said.
GitHub repository says the code was committed 7 days ago, and it's been listed on C-Cex within the last hour.
At this point where is the coin on the road map? Is the "OpCode" system in place yet, or the whitepaper available? Is it just a scrypt clone right now?

Hi everybody.
So, its been really quiet these few months. With seemingly some other projects like ETH, LISK, Augur, Slock.it taking some of the limelight. Infact, one of our original developers has decided to commit his time to working directly with ETH. So, as it stands right now, we're still aiming to do exactly the same, it will just take a little more time. In the mean time we're also looking for members to join our team to make the process a little faster.
Thanks for being patient to all that invested into us. I will make sure to keep everyone up to date with whatever happens.

Wow ROI for this one is really incredible! IPO price was about 200 sat now one coin values about 0.003 BTC. With 36M tokens in total makes the coin #5 by marketcap. I think Operand is extremely overvalued atm (yes I missed the IPO).

WTF?!?! First time I've seen this.
Fucking hilarious. Operand is the name of the dev and the coin??? That is ridiculous. Sounds like an 18th century French dandy.
The ANN is a bunch of crypto buzzwords strung together to sound impressive but say nothing.
Obviously a ton of posts have been removed because this thread reads like a short story that is missing half it's pages.

You dare to question the great genius Operand? Operand does not answer peasants such as yourself. Did you not read his biography? "Born and raised in London, he has always had an interest in the world of technology theorizing on how to revolutionize whatever he was interested in particularly. It wasn't until fellow members of his university's techsoc had spoken of bitcoin in his first year that triggered him to dedicate spare time outside his studies to extensively study and research cryptocurrency. Now a recent first class graduate of Physics at Kings College London armed With the strong perseverance towards success that had been honed throughout his undergraduate course has decided to dedicate his time to fulfill the aims of Operand to the best of his ability with the aid of his team." He isn't coming back dude. It is a scam. No physicist from Kings College London with the ridiculous name of Operand is developing shit.

This seems pointless without a dev around, but I am obligated to do my spiel anyway. Maybe a bag holder would be interested in dumping a few coins to possibly stir up a little interest. Anyway, here goes: Hello, I recently volunteered to help the online site PoSWallet.com in their quest to get people interested in promising alternate currencies via a set of online wallets and faucets that are hosted on the PoSWallet site. I am in no way associated with PoSWallet other than as a volunteer hoping to help out a site that I enjoy. As a volunteer, my task is to get recurring donations from altcoin developers for these faucets. Could you please spare some Operand for the PoSWallet faucet? The faucet address is oQAyvqaxJfJDgFvCgupMuf4UT8Q3AkeD5z. You can confirm this address at https://poswallet.com/faucet.php. Any amount is GREATLY appreciated as the faucet is currently empty. The faucets on this site have about 20k claims per month, so they receive good exposure but I am fighting an ongoing battle trying to keep them from running dry. If you read this far, thank you very much for listening.
