I believe Bitcoin it has already entered into the mainstream and is in itself considered a global payment processor, as that is exactly what it does.

That's not going to happen overnight Smiley. Bitcoin is still not mainstream and the majority of Average Joes still not aware of it or watching it with a mix of curiosity and suspicion. BTW after a fork with currently unpredictable consequences and most likely with some disturbances in that time, it will take time to restore confidence, and get back on track.

we need some more time (years) - infrastructure and more layers on top of bitcoin before we could reach mainstream.
