You forgot one important thing. He is not just anybody on the club, he is the club lgrnd and mastermind of real madrid atttacker back then when he was still playing so this is a good opportunity for him to step up and show the world that he still has it on him even if he has retired as player

Zidane played his last game for Real in 2006, that's stupid logic to say the game changed since Rafa left Valencia.

No doubt the game has changed but what makes Zidane more qualified to be Real manager? Great player but manager?

You could say the same thing about Guardiola, Simeone, and now Luis Enrique. All those "new" managers who got the chance, proved they are really good managers.
The similar thing about all those managers is that they were very clever players.
I believe in Zidane.

If I was Florentino Perez I prefer choose Claudio ranieri as permanent coach then.
Zidane as caretaker its ok but not for as permanent coach not in the near future as he need more experience how to manage a team like real Madrid in tight competition.

I hope Zidane will perform well because I loved him as a player! He's been ,together with Ronaldo Luis Nazario da Lima, the best player of the 2000. He was the prototype of a modern player: fast, creative, strong and skilled.

Now he's managing Madrid: I hope he has the same skills he used to have as player. He learnt from Ancelotti so he should know a bit.

Zidane was a quality player and legend for real but this is his first job.  It will be interesting to see if he can pull of a pep guardiola style entrance to world management.  Very tough job though he basically has to win the league and nearly win or win the champions league every year to keep his job.  I give him 1-2 years at best.

yes, perez should not fire ancelotti last season, what a pity! He should keep him, benitez sucks and couldn't handle the issues between ISCO & James, Danilo is the worst player i have seen, but i see he is in the lineup, imo he should be a substitute! honestly i don't think he will be successfull for Real but he would be a good replacement as an Intermmanager untill next year comes in and they get mourinho back and by saying Zidane knows the players more then benitez because he was there in real madrid atleast from 2013

you should read the standings again, http://www.flashscore.com/soccer/spain/primera-division/standings/

should be 2 points behind barca, and barca only played 17 rounds, RM played one more round but still 2 points left behind. so i consider Barca has 5 more points than RM. imo it is very necessary to sack benitez, he is a fool coach actually.

if you watch the match against Valencia, he didn't use james and isco, didn't give them chance even for substitute. He only used one substitute chance but he has 3. And the worst thing is that he used danilo for lineup who is a shitty player. He must go home, I support Perez's decision.

It's not about point difference but how they play. Their game play is not good enough for Real Madrid, their squad can do better than this. They wouldn't give any hope for achievements, that's why they sack Rafa. Let's see what Zidane can do in his rookie year.

but some of this year zizou has always been a part of real madrid with an assistant manager, even when real madrid getting la Decima. so I think zizou already know all about the real madrid
