About Old Dogs New Tricks.Old Dogs New Tricks is a rescue for older dogs that are unwanted and abandoned. We are a
501c3 non-profit organization of volunteers who provide veterinary care and meet the day-to-day needs of senior dogs while they look for forever homes.
As you might guess, a rescue like this is very expensive because the dogs we rescue often come to us in bad shape from years of neglect. Our vet bills are enormous and the rescue is mostly run on donations from generous people and the wonderful volunteers that help us out. Susan Call is president and founder of Old Dogs New Tricks. Susan has Multiple Sclerosis, and is confined to a wheelchair, but her handicap does not stop her from giving 100% of her energy to the rescue.
A quote from Susan:
"When I started this venture in 2009 I wanted a project that was bigger than myself and, since I love dogs, why not make it about them? I chose to rescue the older ones because they are often the first to be euthanized. When we take in a new dog their eyes say it all. They look up with cloudy, sad eyes as if to say “THANK YOU” for a safe place to rest. It always brings tears to my eyes. After a few weeks of rehab they come back to life again and become playful and energetic. The transformation is Awesome."
Once the dogs have been rehabilitated, ODNT cares for them and sees to their day to day needs as they look for permanent homes for them.
We are running this Crowdfunding project for the purpose of supporting ODNT. The planned uses for the funds generated are listed transparently below. The primary purpose of the ICO is to invest in safety and driving upgrades to the Rescue's handicapped accessible van so that Susan can independently take care of the day to day business of the rescue.
Susan Explains the need:
"I've been on a quest for a wheelchair accessible van that I can drive ever since I started the rescue. I need it to pick Dogs up from shelters, take to vet appts, everything dog. A year ago I finally found a van I could afford with some handicap features. It's now "the rescue van". But sadly I still can't drive it. I want to drive it from my wheelchair and I need about $7500 worth of specialized equipment to make that happen. It would make life so much easier if I could drive the van, in addition to the safety issue with needing a midnight run to the vet for an emergency. "
Of the total funds raised, 34 BTC will go toward improvements in the rescue van. In addition to the funds raised for the rescue van upgrades, 6 BTC will be used to purchase a sponsored exchange listing, as well as 5 BTC for fees and development costs and 5 BTC for future wallet updates and improvements, for a total of 50 BTC.
The funds will be raised in a ICO crowdfunding offering at the digital currency exchange Yobit.Net. The offering will last for 7 days, after which time half the funds raised will be placed in a buy wall and the trading will commence. The developer funded buy wall will be maintained for four days, or unless it is consumed.
The wallet will be released at the start of the ICO, so traders can capitalize on the staking opportunity.
