Cagliari was doing well, having won 3 games in a row. This was a first for them this season. But that streak has come to an end. Winning away at Roma was always going to be difficult, let's be realistic. Roma, who haven't won in 2 weeks, are pushing for a top-4 finish. Today, they won thanks to goals from Donyell Malen.
Malen was quite good at Dortmund but didn't get enough chances at Aston Villa. He's back in form at Roma. He's scored 3 goals in 4 matches now. If he keeps this up, Roma will exercise his buyout option.

Despite Cagliari's recent impressive run, I never for once believed that they'll go to the Stadio Olympico and secure a win. It's very unlikely for such to happen. The best result I predicted for them to get tonight was a draw but as  a bigger club, Roma dominated the game and didn't give their visitors the chance of getting a result in this particular one. A top four finish is still possible for Roma but that's if they'll be more consistent than they've ever been since the start of the season.

Kristovic controlled the ball so well that I think the goalkeeper missed it, otherwise his shot wasn't that great, but his control was perfect.

The most that Cagliari could have hoped to get from this game was a draw, the possibility of sharing points with AS Roma and even that was as far from them as possible as Roma was breathing down their neck all game, keeping the under constant pressure and the goalkeeper almost scored his own goal. It was a very close one with barely parts of the ball on the lines.

Then, Malen found his way in the goalkeeper box and he rushed out widely to allow Malen a chip into the net. It was a good one and then again, Malen as able to get a second goal for his team, giving Roma a comfortable 2 goals lead to keep the pressure on Juventus on the league table.

Juventus don't surprise us after getting some good results... They had a big difficulty against Lazio. It was normal that they dominated the second half as Lazio got 2-0 ahead early in the half already. But all those shots weren't enough for a comeback to win.

It looks like Spalletti is trying everything to get some efficiency from Koopmeiners. He even used him as CB mostly (which was weird for an AM) and we saw him as DM as well. This was unusual compared to last season. But he is still useless...

Yeah, after that Atalanta defeat, I assumed they would comeback stronger with some fire and win this game with ease, but looks like that wasn't the case at all.

I would say that they are in a very big risk because they were trying to be third place, which would have been awesome for them, but now looking at them they are having trouble even for a fourth place finish. Roma will fight for it and they will have some hard time getting to that position so Juventus needs to go back to winning again.

Some times lack of regular playing time makes a player to look like he's not good enough like he has nothing to offer, at Aston Villa he still has all he displayed for his current club but the week in week out playing time wasn't coming so Roma seems like the club that have pushed out those hidden skills speed and all that, he's good but another thing I noticed is having too many good players and being confused on who to start or play but Roma need at least 2 to 3 good players to be added to the team to help them win games for the club and is working for them. I loved how Roma played and won but the risk was much at 1nil, good thing it ended at 2nil in their favor.

I think so too, although I had some doubts, but currently Donyell Malen seems to be the answer to the problems faced by Roma because this team indeed has issues with a frontline that lacks sharpness. However, the presence of Donyell Malen now brings new hope, even though it is still too early for us to judge, but in my opinion, at least there is a positive possibility for the future of AS Roma's attacking line.

Inter are just going on so comfortably. Chivu isn't making any simple point losses. He is really good at winning like all of his easy games recently. Just like this one against Sassuolo.

So far, Malen has had 4 appearances for Roma in Serie A and he has scored 3 goals for them, it's impressive and if Malen can maintain this performance or improve it more, AS Roma will have very good chance of finishing this season in top four.

All big clubs played their matches except AC Milan that will have a match with Como. This will be like a big match for both of them, and if any club lose this match, their competition will almost end early. With AC Milan, they need three points for chasing Inter Milan for Scudetto and with Como, they need three points for competing with Roma and Juventus for a fourth position.

Nothing much change during the second. Roma maintained their dominance and Malen double the score to sealed their victory with a two goals to nil. I wondered why Roma hasn't been playing with this intensity all this while. I'm confident that Roma can get into the top four if they should continue playing this way until the end of the season. Their forward was very active yesterday and the defence was strong too.

Can we conclude now that Roma has finally found what it needed? I mean a striker who can dribble, assist and also score goals? Malen is a beast in front of goal but I will reserve my comment until they play Naples.

Good to see Rome winning again and not falling into a bad run, after they drop some points i was concerned about how they are gonna react to it, but seems like they comeback stronger and take a vital win for their aim.

I hope to see Rome in Champions League next year and Como in Europa League, both of them with new players to see how further they can go.

Atalanta defeated Cremonese 2–1 at home. They scored two goals in the first 25 minutes and secured the win, but after conceding late, the match ended 2–1.

Roma are currently leading Cagliari 1–0 thanks to a goal from Donyell Malen. There is very little time left in the first half and Roma are the dominant side at the moment.
I think they will win this match.
