There is some downgrade in Leverkusen's performance lately but it is natural and there is still no problem also. I mean actually they are playing really effectively even in the matches they lose points. The recent matches in which they lost points were even challenging matches of the season - against Stuttgart and Dortmund.

Bayern Munich's losing by an embarrassing score against Frankfurt was a big help for Leverkusen to keep a decent point gap with them also.

I really want Bayern Munich's championship streak to end and it looks like the only team that really can do this is Leverkusen at the moment.

Im not feeling good with union berlin right now. The club is not yet fully recovering from the bad performance. We have not yet seen berlin to get win streak for the several matches in a row. The performance of berlin in UCL and bundesliga have proven that berlin is still in a bad shapes.
It has not made good progress. It was almost winning the game against madrid but since we do know that how strong madrid int he previous match and it can also give us a small insight if berlin has its main problem in the defensive line.
I can put some applauses for the attacking lines but the defensive line has become the main problem owned by berling right now. The club is not yet performing like what it used to be.
It's a setback for berling to go out from UCL this fast. Unacceptable result for all of berlin fans.

Meanwhile, Union Berlin standings are in 15th position with only 10 points, Berlin is experiencing really difficult problems this season.

There is no longer any hope for Union Berlin and they can only look forward to next season if they want to see them change and show good progress.
In the match against Real Madrid, they no almost win but almost held draw, but in the 89th minute Dani Ceballos managed to score a goal which made the situation change to Real Madrid lead 2 - 3.

In the attacking game, all players from midfielders and strikers can play competitively and it not that bad and the defense line really needs improvement so that in the future they can be stronger up front and also at the back.

Union Berlin has experienced 9 defeats so far and looking at last season's statistics, the team in the European zone lost 12 times, so Union Berlin has a chance at least to get a place in the conference league but that is not an easy thing because it means they have to win a lot of matches and every one defeat will make the opportunity smaller and so on.
The Champions League doesn't seem like a competition that suits Union Berlin's strengths, maybe the European league or conference league would be better for them and could do more than the Champions League where they were only able to achieve two draws from six group stage matches.

Union Berlin will not make it to the top four this season, rather they will try to fight to remain in good position, I'm not even sure they surpassed 10th position on the table. In group C, there are more challenging matches to watch and I wouldn't be surprised if Union Berlin starts picking good form and winning upcoming matches in Bundesliga, they're no longer in UCL so the team's attention is not longer divided. They will channel full focused on becoming one of the competitive clubs in bundesliga and find a way to missed out on inconsistent stats, remember they're close to the relegation zone.

In last 11 matches, they have only one win and now exit from Champions League without any win mean things are not good for them in this season even they are now out of the relegation jail but still they need to bring improvement if they want to have anything positive from this season their next game is against another struggling club Bochum which is having 2 wins and 7 draws in this season.

Now we are having rumours about few changes in coming transfer window which is essential for the improvement otherwise we can have more troubles for them in coming weeks even most chances now they will stay in bottom clubs but still they need to be stable if they want to have another season here in Bundesliga.

Leverkusen is definitely going to do something great this season in the bundesliga and aswell in other leagues where they are participating along side. Bayern Leverkusen seem to be aiming to get multiple trophies by the end of this season because they just keep staying at the top of almost every league where they are participating in this season.

Currently in the Europa, they are putting out a really good performance tonight and are leading by a very good number of goal of which they are definitely going to get complete points by the end of the match, so far they stand unbeaten aswell and are definitely aiming to win the league, even the team that seemed like they would have looked like their biggest contender in the Europa (Liverpool) is appearing weak so the chances of Leverkusen seem to further increase, hopefully they will be able to get two or more trophies by the end of this season.

The Europa League is tough but becomes very easy for clubs that knows what they're doing. Leverkusen can fight for survival but they can't lack the mentality to win their oppositions this season. Bayer Leverkusen is currently stationed as the best club in the world  of Bundesliga football, they're unbeaten in 14 games played this season, incredible performance from the club. Xabi Alonso is doing a nice job by implementing outstanding performance for the club, they're currently doing their best to maintain unbeaten run and becomes very very aggresive in matches this season.

Bayer Leverkusen is having 14 matches unbeaten streak in Bundesliga and their streak in this season is 6 matches winning streak in Europa League as well which making them special under Xabi Alonso and best German club in this season as well with this performance things are looking impressive, and they clearly have chance for the double as well which could be the biggest gift for their fans as well after years they will be able to celebrate massive success.

Right now, they are having two draw matches streak with their next game is against Frankfurt which can bring them another three points and this could be enough for them to stay at the top of league table until match which is coming after break and this could be good psychological advantage against their toughest opponent Bayern Munich which is currently at the second spot with having one match in hand and difference is four points.

This caused them to fall behind the championship race very much as well. They are doing much better in the Champions League actually. That performance helped them even finish the group as the leader.  

However they had better start performing better than this in the Bundesliga. Even the fight for top 4 will be really challenging for them as it seems. Stuttgart and Leipzig both are going on much better than Dortmund in the league. Leipzig are also competing in the Champions League in the end but they are handling these two tournaments more effectively.

@Velvet78 it’s clear that they need reinforcements and thus I wonder if they’ll get Sancho back on loan because it’s a deal that’ll help both the parties. Furthermore if they decide against strengthening in the January window then I feel that they’ll be taking a very big risk which could effect their season because I highly doubt that they can win the champions league this season.

It seems yes, and because the lack of experience in the Champions League has also prevented Union Berlin from qualifying for the next round and considering the decline in performance they have experienced this season is also a major highlight for Union Berlin.
