Bringing back an former successful coach to fill the gap until the next season, also hopefully achieving goals while doing so and then prepare and search for a new coach for the upcoming season.

They did that with Jupp Heynckes for example in the 17-18 season. They hired him for the remainder of the season after firing Ancelotti. They even wanted to keep him but he preferred to retire finally.

So this idea is definitely not a new or even odd one.

I can see the point difference is currently 8 and that is really a big difference. You know even if Bayern Munich is able to win the next match, the difference is still going to be big enough. Yes having a lead of five points is going to matter a lot. Of course it could be better and bigger.
