I always said this Hjulmand guy was a mistake, they made two mistakes this year, first was getting Erik Ten Hag to replace someone as great as Xabi and they realized their mistake very quickly, but it still wasted the summer with a terrible coach, and after firing him very early into the season (was it like after only three games?) they still went ahead and got someone who was subpar again. Hjulmand will not get them where they need to be, they are fourth place but will drop probably even further.

The Bundesliga is really full of surprises. I don't see this absurd results in other top leagues as often as this one. This is why I'm thinking twice before betting on a team to win here. It feels better to bet on goals rather than that.

It's important to note that Leverkusen never replaced Xabi Alanso, but Xabi himself left Leverkusen for Real Madrid. After that Leverkusen's management made a mistake by rushing to find a replacement hiring ETH as coach. This is where Leverkusen's downfall began.

Many say Leverkusen quickly fired ETH because he was so bad under his management that firing him was the only option. Leverkusen also made a second mistake by hiring Hjulmand. If Leverkusen wants to strengthen their team, they should have found a coach with experience and a sound philosophy. Coaching Leverkusen with a squad like theirs is no easy feat they need a coach who can inspire the spirit of each player.

Leverkusen's travails are quite predictable from the onset, when the season kicked off in the  Bundesliga, Leverkusen were found wanting, they couldn't even get a single win within their first two games with Erik Ten Hag as coach, and then the club later fired Ten Hag still the team couldn't improve in their performance as much as they ought to and ever since there has been some sort of struggle in the Leverkusen side till this moment and it isn't clear where this is going to take them.
