There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Distraction? I really doubt if a bitcoin symbol occupies that much space.

Wikipedia had the same results, it seems when it comes to donations, the more different methods to send money you have the less money you receive.

Most likely, the financial company, who facilitate most of the donation (cough paypal cough), tell them to take it down.

I can well believe it. When it comes to prising money out of people human psychology is a strange little thing that's easily spooked or upended. I think we underestimate how mindless people can be for much of the day.

Bullshit.

I'm sure that's bad propaganda by credit card companies and Paypal. I never donate something if they don't accept Bitcoin. Bitcoin community do the same as well.

Bitcoin is still so niche that you can't expect donations in btc unless you are targeting btc users.
I find it odd that giving people a choice hinders donations though. Are gifts to charity really that impulse based?
