RIP indeed. But who knows? Maybe he'll be back to witness the final satoshis pop out in 2140.

It's pretty mind blowing that this is a possibility. Im scared of transhumanism and let alone being frozen after being clinically death and waking up centuries after, probably with robotic implants because I doubt they would be able to make the entire body function, specially if you had some sort of sickness as well.

And at the same time I wish I had the money to do that, you know, just in case it actually happens, but right now it feels too sci-fi. Also who knows what will happen in 100 years. If there is a big war, the lab where your body is stored may get bombarded or something.

Yeah, but you will already be dead anyway so it really doesn't matter.

A visionary, and the first recipient of a Bitcoin transaction. That makes for a great man in my books. RIP.

Thanks for everything Hal. I have a great feeling that you are the innovator of Bitcoin. It doesn't really matter as long as first mined coins aren't move.
I hope they find cure and you'll be back.

Hal Finney, RIP. Maybe you were Satoshi, thanks for everything.  Cry

It is almost confirmed that he was not the original Satoshi. But to his credit, Hal Finney was the Bitcoin network's first transaction recipient (when Satoshi sent BTC10.00 to Hal as a test). It seems to me that he and Satoshi used to communicate with each other. He was an active member in the Bitcointalk. Here is one of his threads:

Hal was an extraordinary man. I learned not so long ago about Half Finney and about everything he's done for Bitcoin and us as a community. I've done a lot of reading and got amazed.

RIP great Hall!  Sad

Don't lose hope that cryogenics will become something that people can be thawed out from.

I didn't know Hal's work much, but I just read his wikipedia file. So know that this thread is bringing awareness and attention to his work and to me that's a fine tribute on a one year anniversary.

Cheers to you.

It's quite amazing how cryogenics changed our views on human life, let alone Hal's vision that he might one day again rise after being clinically dead. As a pioneer to many things and one of the leading persona in the cyber-security and technology industry, Mr. Hal Finney, you will be remembered.

See you again after a century! Wink

Has it been a year already since he died and became frozen in literal time and space.
My respects to Hal and he is surely missed thank you for PGP and for being a key part of the first experiment in cryptocurrency.

Hal Finney was the Thomas Watson, when Alexander Graham Bell made the first telephone call in his Boston laboratory, summoning his assistant from the next room.

Satoshi tested this great technology with Hal Finney's help and he will always be remembered and credited for that.
