its working in a s7 b8 version Cheesy
so far no problem!!!!

So, What is the upgrade/improvement over any previous version?

I tested it on a couple. Can't tell a difference.

i just flashed mine to the newest fw.
it had dec 2015 on it, but every time the main pool goes down and it goes to failover it jams up when the main pool comes back up. forcing me to restart it to get it back online.
hopefully this new fw fixes that.

Hello guys, i'm having trouble with a miner i got on my last order (still under bitmain warranty), the miner starts up and i get the blinking green light, but one of the hashboards seems to be having trouble starting up hashing, and the whole miner doesn't hash at all until that board starts up,

miner starts and shows 0 hashing in the miner status, and it gives 100% HW errors....it takes about 5-8 minutes and then the miner starts hashing at full speed, i tested each board separatelly and the problem seems to be related with 1 single board, if i disconnect it miner starts mining right away.

anybody familiar with this problem? is this board defective even if it starts hashing after 5-8 minutes? im still in bitmain warranty

Yous can ask them a replacement board. Just hit them up on their mail.

Good luck.. Lol

On my S4, it was responding to the web panel but not hashing.
Tried firmware reset, no good.
Did total reset but then only ssh worked.
What can I do via ssh

This is S7 thread so kinda out of place here.  Been a while since I have had a S4 but they had sd cards that you could backup/re-image very easily.   Have you looked into it?   That would kinda eliminate the software aspect.

After that I would open up as they can get dusty and clean it out.  At that point check cables and boards - https://bitmain.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/203361315-Board-Diagnostics .   I would start with those two.

Yes there is, but you should find the file with winscp and manualy edit it. I forgot which was it on the s4 but i think is the same on all ants.

I decided to keep my S7 farm and just add onto it with S9s.  The S7s are very profitable right now and even after halving would be able to hold their own.  The S9s need a little help on the payoff and keeping the S7s keeps some stability to the income.

Yes if you have "free" electricity you have a big advantage.  Since no cost to run you can keep running there is not a time it cost more to run then it makes, which again big advantage.  So having will cut reward but you still earn BTC for mining after and with "free" electricity you should still do well.

I would make sure you have the amount of "free" electricity for 2.   As I have no idea what your set up is like as far as electricity available.

Put the S7 in to a soundproof cabinet like I did or underclock it and reduce the fan speed.

What does your sound proof cabinet consist of? still need a lot of air flow to keep it cool and fresh cool air in
