The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Moral of the story: thieves are more trustworthy than politicians. Cheesy

Politicians are big-time thieves, unlike those petty pickpockets who steal $10 or $15 at a time. Politicians rob money from hospitals and orphanages, completely aware of the fact that their actions are likely to result in the deaths of innocent people. I know of a politician who demanded bribes from the widow of a dead factory worker, in order to release the monetary compensation for which she was entitled. She refused to pay, and for the last 5 years or so, she hasn't received a penny from that compensation money.

Where is this politician from?

India.

I travel to India frequently, as I have family connections as well as business interests. The situation is somewhat getting better for the last one year or so, ever since the new government took over. But overall, it is impossible to live in that country for an ordinary citizen. Extremely high tax rates, red tape and bureaucracy.etc.
