Technology allows everyday consumers to do many things without knowing the specific inner workings of the tools and apps they use on a regular basis. One thing most consumers seem to forget, however, is that security plays a very important role, and should not be trumped by convenience. Passwords are one of the worst ways to ensure customer safety, but other options are not working as well as they should either.

Very true, we need some serious development on the security side and or an alternative to passwords.

I can only imagine how many coins will be lost due to users forgetting wallet passwords once bitcoin is mainstream. People are in general very lax when it comes to security and they are used to just resetting passwords and or login details should they forget it. With bitcoin however, as it stands now, you are out of pocket if you forget your wallet login details.

Not sure what the next 'big' thing is going to be in regards to security though but whatever it is it would have to be completely idiot proof especially so with bitcoin.
