Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Ever since the Forum has been under a DDoS attack, even I'm receiving these ponzi scam emails. Report them to Google so that the sender's account is blocked.

op if that's the only bitcoin related spam you're getting, then you're one of the lucky ones. I'm getting upto 20 spam mails per day with phishing links,
mallware links, attached exploited files .. just to describe few of them.
It seams that many bitcoin related sites are selling mailing lists, and the forum hack didn't help either.

My advice is; just ignore it, it goes into the spam folder anyways, i'm reporting spams as well, but i doubt that helps, since they still keep coming.

cheers

My friend you need to get a gmail account.  Googles does the best job of sorting out spam.  I hardly get any; I did get this one.

I think he is, since he mentioned that he already reported the post to Google. Is there a way to do that without having a Gmail account? (Not sarcasm, I'm actually wondering.)

I did a quick search, and it appears the only way to report a spam to Google is through the Gmail interface.  Sad

Sadly, people fall for this and its the main reason why these emails are sent out. The idea of striking it rich in such a short amount of time paints a good portion of the threads here.
