I don't understand this - what is the value in namecoin?  And what is bitparking?

Namecoin in itself is a peer-to-peer DNS system based off of the Bitcoin code.  You use Namecoins to register your own domain, though at the moment you need a custom DNS server in order to resolve those .bit domains.  Useful for the same reason Bitcoin's decentralization is useful, namely, that these domains can't be blocked by a governmental authority.  The project is still in its infancy right now though.

Bitparking I have no idea.

So namecoin is to godaddy as bitcoin is to paypal?

How do you earn Namecoins, and how to do you register namecoin domains??

From what I hear, the whole system leaves a lot to be desired.

the code needs work, and the registration process really needs to be streamlined... honestly it needs a GUI.. but otherwise the .bit domains do work.

ZOMG Moo!

That's what I hear about bitcoin too.  Funny how people resist new ideas.

This thread is about the BTC <--> NMC exchange, not the Namecoin mining pool.

I'd love to have integration in bitcoincharts.com (see http://bitcoincharts.com/about/exchanges/ on what needs to be exposed how) to see some nice charts etc.

https://www.coinlend.org <-- automated lending at various exchanges.
https://www.bitfinex.com <-- Trade BTC for other currencies and vice versa.

Bitparking I have no idea.

You will always need a DNS server to resolve an host, i miss the point in this. The custom DNS can be easily blocked and i don't think anyone will fell the need of installing a program just to resolve some .biz domains.
The "untraceable" nature of bitcoins is lost in this project: IP addresses are associated to a company/person and they can be very easily blocked.

It's a nice concept, but i can't see anything more than that.

qed, you're completely missing the point of this project...I suspect by lack of understanding of the current way DNS works. This isn't the thread to discuss it, please check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_Name_System and also the main dot-bit project site http://dot-bit.org/Main_Page . If you have further questions, please direct them to the #namecoin channel in IRC.

As far as I know, yes. I recently successfully made a withdrawal without any hitches.

This is a really well executed site, I love it!

One action that is complicated: posting an order for all remaining account balance.  To do it, one must determine the order quantity Q such that Q + fee = remaining balance.  It would be nice if there was a button to compute this automatically.

It's in the works, but functionality is a priority over aesthetics at this point.
