Anyone have better CGminer setting then this for 2 6950's?  I'm pulling 454 Kh/s on each card.  I think I should be able to get 500 out of them.

./cgminer --scrypt -w 256 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 7104 --intensity 19 --auto-fan --auto-gpu --gpu-engine 700-935,700-935, --gpu-memclock 1300,1300 --gpu-vddc 1.10,1.10 -o litecoinpool.org:9332 -u username -p password

Thanks for the help

Powersync

Have you tried --shaders 1408,1408 instead of  --thread-concurrency 7104?

Regards

Or --thread-concurrency 7040 even a 5x multiple of 1408.

I have tried --shaders 1408. I loss about 20 khs.  I can overclock the cpu and memory more but hashing doesnt increase much.  I know people are pushing these cards over 520khs.

btc-e.com

for btc/ltc exchanges it takes very little time (you'll be trading within 1-2 hours tops, no personal identification required)

I have not tried them yet for selling ltc for cash though.. I dont believe they have very 'american friendly' cash out options though, so selling for BTC and using the BTC > $$ option may be best (which I've used fastcash4bitcoins.com for that before, works great and is relatively fast with low fees).

any suggested minimum RAM to get decent rates on a 5850 series ?

Usage on card or PC requirements?

You need about 512MB per card on the motherboard, so if you have 4x 5850s you need 3-4gb.

I mean total RAM PC requirements, it's for only 1 x 5850.
So I can assume 2 GB is OK, right ?

yup, should be totally fine.

I got 5 Kh/s in my 6770 and PC almost hanged, for mine the best setup is :

Code:
cgminer --scrypt --shaders 800 --intensity 15 -I 18 -g 1 -w256
-I 15 for Desktop

Regards

Thread concurrency was too high, --thread-concurrency 3200 -g 1 -I 17 -w 128 should give 210kh/s

Code:
XMR: 44GBHzv6ZyQdJkjqZje6KLZ3xSyN1hBSFAnLP6EAqJtCRVzMzZmeXTC2AHKDS9aEDTRKmo6a6o9r9j86pYfhCWDkKjbtcns

updated thread with common thread concurrency ranges, I didn't realize it but 5xxx and 6xxx cards perform the same as 7xxx cards in that memory padding size and therefore thread_concurrency have typical ranges in which the card mines the most quickly.

Just to note that mem and core clocks (possibly their ratio) are also relevant. For example, I got significantly better results with E:850 M:1000 (350Khs) than E:900 M:1000 (310Khs) with a HD5850.

use the windows binary in the command console? (start menu --> type in 'cmd')

http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/cgminer-2.8.1-win32.zip

other than that it's the same as for unix

After lots of testing with many different settings.. i would suggest this for the OP

avoid the 7870 if you are considering buying one for LTC mining

No matter how many attempts I have made with all types of different settings: I have NEVER been able to get above 330 khash on it, even at 1220/1425 clock speeds. I am easily getting 610-640 on a 7950, and considering the 7950 is only about $60 or so more than a 7870, it's not the best bang/buck by a long shot.

(that said.. 50ltc bounty for the first guy that can get me 400+ khash out of a 7870)

well i am trying for a long time to get my card mining LTC with cgminer. Total failure with 79xx cards
(a lot of HW errors, very low utility). I have success with 6870 cards little success with 5870
and very strange results with 5850!
I have a 5850 in one PC that mines at 300Kh (745/1000) with utility 25
(cgminer settings:  --intensity 18 --worksize 256 -g 1 --lookup-gap 2)
but in other machine a 5850 had a lot of HW errors with same settings, same win7-64 and ATI 12.8 drivers)
i guess every card in every rig needs its own settings!!!!!

Are they all in at least pcie 4x slots? I've mixed brands and cards before without problem

As stated use reaper for 79xx cards

Code:
XMR: 44GBHzv6ZyQdJkjqZje6KLZ3xSyN1hBSFAnLP6EAqJtCRVzMzZmeXTC2AHKDS9aEDTRKmo6a6o9r9j86pYfhCWDkKjbtcns

my cards are in x16 and x8 slots. i am using cgminer 1.7.5, i will try with previous versions as well.
with reaper is much worst, totally random fail results!

With reaper with mixed cards you should run a different instance for each card with "device x" in reaper.conf where x is the number referring to the card in zeroeth order.

You can implement variable thread concurrency values in cgminer using commas. All cards with different numbers of spus require different thread concurrencies.

Code:
XMR: 44GBHzv6ZyQdJkjqZje6KLZ3xSyN1hBSFAnLP6EAqJtCRVzMzZmeXTC2AHKDS9aEDTRKmo6a6o9r9j86pYfhCWDkKjbtcns
