I wouldn't touch bytecoin if they were giving it out for free.
Just get CCminer or xptminer, much more simple.
Riecoin is pretty much the only coin that CPU mining is worth it.
Keep away from the shady coins.

Hi there, I'm from South Africa.
This means I'm poor, I guess.

Its not worth it.
If you mine litecoin on cpu, it will take forever to earn one.

Just keep mining the most profitable coin, send it to an exchange and exchange it to litecoin if that's the coin you
want to invest in.

actually you wouldn't ask all those questions if you weren't using blindly a GUI  Grin
go to a "real" command line miner everything will become clear
(sorry for not being more helpful  Grin I don't use one, I just use a command line miner like 95% (probably) of the people around... and not mentionning that would probably decrease as well the risk of running (for) a botnet

edit: a more helpful answer is to contact the dev who wrote it... (and ask for your coin to be added if it isn't in it...)
I would assume, that you could run on any scrypt coin using the pool address of your choice... since the "GUI" can't tell if it is litecoin or another scrypt coin.

Why would you say BCN is a shady coin? I have been trading and CPU mining BCN and it already made me some nice profits. Besides, I really do believe that BCN will eventually replace XMR monero.

because they lied over the creation date of the coin so they can save a huge premine for them  Grin
(so is that shady ?  I guess it is up to you to decide Grin)

Ok, so you got a point. but like that there are a lot of projects that have done exactly the same.
The truth is, you can mine them easily and by trading them you can get some profits.
