CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action

Interesting. Ever since Cryptsy's involvement with Joshua Garza and the Paycoin scam I have 100% not used their service and recommend everybody else not to even consider doing business with them. The fact that an issue like this is even on a forum is absolutely unacceptable in a business standpoint and they're the only ones to blame. OP has multiple layered security that would keep any account safe even if they were hacked and sniffed for credentials. The fact that he has a password encrypting and saving service makes it impossible to forget his password. So somehow in a day his password became unusable with no records of any password change on the system? This is either a direct hack on cryptsy servers or more fraud (which they have proven themselves capable of by dealing with Mr. Garza). Which one do you think is worse?

Again no clue how the user lost his password. Again his funds are nice, and safe in his account. Again all he has to do is RESET his password, and withdraw his funds. For some odd reason he refuses to do so.....

I had an incident where Cryptsy lost a 50 LTC deposit of mine. It took a few weeks to get it back, but it came back in tact. I'd have preferred it be faster, but they stuck with the ticket for over a month and got me back the LTC.

I also use this exchange daily and withdraw BTC as well as many other coins (I believe someone already made a great point about not using an exchange as a wallet) and I haven't had any issues there.

One route you could pursue that might be more effective than a forum and cheaper than a lawyer would be the BBB of Florida. When I did reach a stalemate on the LTC issue, they were helpful in getting it resolved.

I also recommend you try what BitJohn is telling you to do and report back. One thing I can say about Cryptsy is that they've never ignored or deleted a support request of mine.

I have never experienced any bigger problems with cryptsy under these two years I've been trading(not worse than coins gettting delayed, which might not always be Cryptsy's fault).

Actually, I'll credit to BitJohn and Mullick for being so patient and I actually DO think that people actually MAY FORGET their passwords

BitJohn, I told this Cryptsy before, but I will tell you again now:  There is a - very small - chance that I will consider using Cryptsy again some time in the future, if Cryptsy

* delists Paycoin
* distances itself from Paycoin in any way possible
* publishes a sincere apology for supporting the Paycoin fraud by listing Paycoin and accepting a prime "controller"

As long as that doesn't happen I won't touch your platform with a 10 foot pole. You can not be trusted.

I don't know about changing passwords but cryptsy locked my account for no apparent reason and I couldn't access it although I knew the password and username. The support asked me to answer security questions that at the time of the creation of my account weren't even existant as a feature. Cryptsy has one of the worst support desks, badly trained agents, lacking ticket system and cooperation between support agents and developers is close to non existant. It's ridiculus that people have to resort to the forums to get serious issues looked at by somene that can actually solve them. The support is very unreliable.

With that said, What about Mintsy BitJohn? You know that the service you once advertised and then went awol on is now looking like a scam right? I used to be supportive but all I can say now is keep digging...

I'm not sure what you mean with the silly expression "butthurt". I never held any paycoins and I didn't "run into" any scam, neither with GAW, nor after that. I never trusted GAW, I don't trust the team that currently holds the millions of paycoins that were premined by GAW, and I think that Cryptsy can not be trusted. If you think I am a "moron" for saying that, then I feel sorry for you.

Now that I can agree with - Mintsy is a total scam. I posted in that thread numerous times about the issues I ran into using their proxy and trying to do rentals, and that doesn't even touch on the contracts people purchased... And the 100% lack of support. Kind of shocking given the level of support I get from Cryptsy. Maybe DigitalX is to blame for the Mintsy debacle...

That being said, what's with all this PayCoin nonsense? Given how much everyone but Josh Garza lost on that scam, why do you think Cryptsy is any different? Look at how fast the price fell and what a joke Hashstakers, etc. turned out to be. And this ultimatum that one customer won't come back unless they make him feel better about PayCoin... well good luck with that and let me know how it turns out.

As much as I don't like Cryptsy I have to agree with them. Just reset your password and withdraw your coins. It takes all of 5 minutes with a coffee break after the first.

I would make you do the same if this was related to any of my websites.

Question 1) Before proceeding with the password change, can you guarantee to me and the community here on this forum that the 2-Factor Auth PIN is still enabled, and that email withdraw confirm 2fa is also still enabled, and that you won’t remove either safeguard without my authorization???

Because if you can’t guarantee this simple thing first, it would be pointless to move forward. The people here will plainly see that if you are indeed acting “in good faith”, that you’d be able to answer this question simply in the affirmative.

I think we can ALL agree that if Cryptsy/BitJohn cannot affirm this statement about the 2fa’s, then it’s clear evidence of Cryptsy/BitJohn acting in bad faith.

Show us you’re legit and simply answer Q1 affirmatively. Then we can move forward and get on with our lives.

How does Cryptsy over-ride a lost 2FA if Cryptsy can't change the 2FA? Or you are saying changed only with consent?  Then again, how do you prove the real owner consented?

Cryptsy will take your money in the markets without locking out your account. So I don't think they need to lock you out other than to harass you for whatever reason.

Cryptsy Bait and Switched MN2 and then don't respond to support while they kept half the Contracts for themselves they said must sell before the market opens. They also said that they would never sell the Contracts and then end up having a Raffle for 200 MN2 shares sold and bought with Cryptsy Points!

They sat on their hands when Crypt PnD happened and they could have locked down all trading accounts associated with the PnD immediately as they were warned and told me they would look into it. Hell it could have been their coin for all we know.

Do I think they are capable of doing things they tell you they can't? Hell yeah! Do I think they would? Most certainly!

I wouldn't use Cryptsy even if they paid me!
