Could be. Thinking about it it is notoriously watched money if it moved to any exchange it would be seized.

@BitJohn - What are your thoughts about the giveaway of all 200+ wallets to random posters?
https://www.goldcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3789.0

Thousands of customers hurt, people left bankrupt and this guy thinks it's a good idea to do a 'giveaway' with other peoples money - to literally just make himself appear like a hero in attempt to promote his dead forum 'goldcointalk'.

I would be very curious to hear what you estimate the balance to be of each of the 200+ wallets he gave away before the exchange went down?  Based on coins listed in this document (see pg. 21 and exhibit B) http://cryptsyreceivership.com/v1/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/CCF_000148.pdf

I think the giving away of these wallets in such a wreckless manor is the ultimate insult to every Cryptsy customer. A case were someone literally acquired tens of millions of dollars worth of cryptocurrency for $49,500 and gave it away. Do you know if ex-cryptsy employees were notified about this sale or was it done in the shadows?

Something smells terribly wrong.

Auction, but how can everyone around the globe attend? Better call Saul

Curious if anyone actually followed / heard or knew of this auction or it's contents before it happened? Feel free to chime in - I suspect some serious bad play here and don't see anyone kicking up a fuss about it or calling the person who won the auction for a wreckless giveaway, essentially self-promotion and destructive to every altcoin if one person holds the balance to a huge amount of any one coin.

I saw someone mention the drives were wiped that had user balances - is there any full proof of this or is it 'hear say'?

User data and coins are long gone.

Most people took the settlement cash which was nothing.

Looks like the thread has fizzled out eh? No surprise really. Despite all the bloviating and idle threats to his well being in this thread, Vernon scumbag
knew in the end that there would be no recourse for all the victims he scammed by just moving to China.
Whos gonna get a posse together, make a trek to China not knowing a word of the language and hunt him down over a few thousand scammy ass shitcoins that no one has ever heard of?

"Excuse me do you speak english?...we are searching for this man... he stole my shitcoins..can you help me?" .... yeah right....

Mymenace, Dude what do you keep going on about recovering your coins.  A settlement has been reached with the tools that got robbed but no coins will be given out, just some paltry dollar figure.

Sign and collect your ramen money.

Past posts prove future trolling!

Shall we play a game

LOL you guys missed a lot didnt you? The coin wallets that were recovered were handed off to a bunch of randos... mostly empty.. good luck finding vern this late in the game.
That day has passed. But sure Ill play along.. Wheres my BTCD? WAHHHH

cry about it.

yup

Out of curiosity, why did the investigation into theDCgirl stop.   Paul was in China on the run when the servers containing exchange wallet info was deleted from server with Vultr.  The developer with root access is the most likely person.   In addition, if DC girl kept personal servers for other clients (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=954240.msg14537788#msg14537788), it is possible that he/she kept a mirror.  I see TheDCgirl posted that he/she cooperated with authorities and was the first to notify people, but it is strange that he/she was involved with other well-known scams as the developer.  Only developer out there, low bidder?
