USB is 5V

A 12V switch has an internal regulator, you have to open the switch to check.

Or plug a device with a known amp rating in a port and see if it works Smiley

I'm absolutely not qualified to give you a better answer Smiley

I've bought 3 hubs already and have another one in transit.

I'll buy stuff until I find one that works for my 6 sticks
Then i'll buy more sticks and I'll have to start all over again

LOL

60W /10ports = 6W per port = 1.2A @ 5V.
If the on-board electronics allows it.

Back of power brick:

AC/DC Adapter

input: 100-240V-50/60Hz 1.5A
Output: +12V ----5.0A

So the brick says 5 Amps

But the watts come to 60
SO I'm no electrician, but it ads up to being more than capable to handle 1A per port on the 10 Port with 60 watts.

BUT....on he bottom it says (the English parts)

10 USB (HUB)
A-300
DC 12V
USB 2.0

then there are 1- 4 in Chinese, and line 3 says:

USB 500mA

So that would lead me to believe that each of the 10 ports is set to a max of 500mA? am I wrong?

I only ask because the review on that hub said that each port can do 1A

I haven't had much luck with the same settings on the USB 2.0 Hub that i am getting on the USB 3.0 Hub

Meaning that the settings on the compac are the same as far as Voltage ~ .77 each and Mhz set to 300, i am getting the beeping sounds on the compac when in the USB 2.0 hub but not the USB 3.0 one.

Thanks!

Right thats what i thought and was advertised, but it could be coded into the electronics to only do 500ma each.
I just have no way to test the Amp per port unless someone does.

thanks!

yea exactly just branded by the old BUYAHASH

and on their old link at microcenter they say each port can do 1A:

http://www.microcenter.com/product/431863/10-port_usb_20_hub_w-_power_supply

I don't know if that's true, since they error out with the same voltage settings on the compacs from the usb 3 hub to that one.

AND if it was true, then they wouldnt be beeping.... and actually would have more Amperage per port than a standard powered USB 3 which i believe is like 900ma.

what do you think? only 500ma per port?

thanks!

sdit: on that link, which is the same hub, it says:

"Can charge to 10pcs Cell Phone or others electronic products at one time and can provide about 500 MA charge current"

Now, that is charging not data, so I wonder if it actaully can do up to 1A per port if it isnt in chargning mode?

I bought 3 of these buy-a-hash hubs when I first started in late 2013. I eventually had 30 U2+'s running slightly overclocked on them and they powered everything without a hitch 24/7/365. I just shut them down about 3 weeks ago when a relative convinced me to sell my U2's. For him to gift to an in-law's 15 year old son's birthday. Ha! I kept the hubs and wish I could find more but Microcenter does not transfer stock.

port output: 5v300mA

The one I linked:
Output: 5V,1A*10

cf manufacturer page:

yea I have the A-300:

http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Cool-style-USB-2-0-HUB-Charger-10-ports-with-CE-ROHS-FCC-certification/1938705_32513481030.html

looks according to the specs only 600mA per port...sucks.

I would still like to know if there is a way in general to test the max Amp per port on a US hub manually?
Thanks!

someone said (sorry don't have the proper reference handy) that Superbpag usb 3.0 works fine with Raspberry pi and Compacs.
it has seven ports with 2A per port, apparently, for a total of 70W/14A, but costs $36, similar to 10 port Anker.

Pretty nice

5V/2A is 10W and that's what the chip alone takes at 400Mhs.

i got cgminer-gekko to compile on the r1 and its working great.. its actually using about a 3rd less memory and it doesnt seem to crash every hour.. but i have a problem.

the api changed.. im not sure how to get individual stats like the u3 cgminer had..

before, /usr/bin/cgminer-api -o stats 127.0.0.1 4029 returned gsh av, ghs 5s, blah blah blah.. for each usb device.

its returning alot of info now, but not any of those.
Code:

That's the hub (Superbpag) I used for the 24hr over-clock contest run in the compac solo club. Ran one stick with Y set-up at 435MHz got/getting 23.87GH (I haven't shut it down yet and in about 10min it'll be 36hrs run).

Overclock contest? I should have put in Max, the 488MHz Compac that I couldn't get more out of because it was killing my hub. Course that stick isn't exactly stock.

It looks like a nice hub.  Only problem is a lot of us RPI users are using 2.0 , USB 3.0 Hub's don't seem to like RPI.   Hopefully they come out with a RPI that can handle most usb 3.0 hubs someday.

Until then I will be gettin 2.0 for the most part.  Just hard to beat RPI as a controller.

No, Max was a custom rebuild. I changed the volt-setting resistors and the main caps on the buck to give it a higher voltage and smoother current.

That's whats needed for the "anything goes" over clock run, if it happens. (the last was just for stock stick)

yea I have the A-300:

looks according to the specs only 600mA per port...sucks.

That's the hub (Superbpag) I used for the 24hr over-clock contest run in the compac solo club. Ran one stick with Y set-up at 435MHz got/getting 23.87GH (I haven't shut it down yet and in about 10min it'll be 36hrs run).

can usb connector even handle the Y setup on this hub (rhetorical question, of course)? doubling from 2A to 4A per slot?

It looks like a nice hub.  Only problem is a lot of us RPI users are using 2.0 , USB 3.0 Hub's don't seem to like RPI.   Hopefully they come out with a RPI that can handle most usb 3.0 hubs someday.

Until then I will be gettin 2.0 for the most part.  Just hard to beat RPI as a controller.

actually, someone (Jake36, probably) specifically mentioned that this particular usb 3.0 hub (Superbpag) handles raspberry pi well, if I am not mistaken.

Yes, with a Pi2 B (don't know if the older Pi's will work with it or not), ran 5 sticks for a week, plugged into a USB 2.0 hub that was plugged to the Pi. Then again for a week with 5 sticks plugged straight to the Pi, with no problems.

Ok so not directly plugged but using the know workaround (which doesn't always work), but good to know.

Thank you Jake.

Now I just have to find one that ships to Europe and hope it'll handle 6 sticks :p

Or I just get another Orico A3H10 and use 3 sticks on each.
