IT WORKED!
I just managed to get some Bitcoin out of one of the recent addresses. =)

I know, I know, I'm helping the stress test by even trying. But I do think the blocksize issue has stagnated for too long. I support the idea of prioritizing a solution to this problem more urgently.

In another note, I see the estimated block delay for free transactions on cointape has shot up from 10 to >100 in the last couple hours. Seems like there is an effect.
Would you like to share with us proof of those bitcoins what you succeeded to transfer on to your address. It is possible but you need to be some expert to be able to take out some money from these.

And don't import the private keys into electrum.  The servers are run by volunteers.  You don't want to spam their servers by asking them for gigabytes of transaction data.  At least send them a bitcoin to their donation address for the stress that you put on their server.

Groan. Now you tell us. :-p

Thanks, though, I appreciate the info. Is there a way to "undo" importing into an electrum wallet once it has begun?

Not sure if there is a way.  Probably the easiest way is to delete the wallet (back it up first!) and then restore the wallet from the seed.  This should restore all but the imported private keys.  You may lose some settings or labels, though. Editing the wallet by hand (it is a text file) may also work, but it is dangerous...

I'd say use bitcoind but that's not easy for someone without much experience.

Because in actuality, they are letting us perform the stress-test ourselves. Genius, many are already baited, including me. Who doesn't want free money anyway?

BC.i is probably being 'ddosed' by all those requests. They're the only web wallet able to handle such a thing, thankfully their system somewhat handles huge amount of requests by blocking some. Has their API been affected?

What wallet did you use?
It works on Bitcoin Core. Either use coin control manually or use bitcoind (can't help you with this one). Well another weird thing has just happened.

It says that the block was mined 45 years 8 months ago. Im not even going to comment the 120MB mempool. It looks like for them everything is going according to plan.

Where are you seeing this? Maybe it's an error on their side?

It's time to panic?

So I get that this may be someones intention to stress test the network, or whatever.
As someone who has only used a wallet on a mobile phone can I ask what these numbers they keep posting mean and how anyone would actually get bitcoin from them?

My experience of paying for things and sending BTC to people is vastly different from something using a single number, albeit a longish string

It was on blocktrail. It looks like it was fixed, so there are no problems.

bitcoind, or bitcoin core (bitcoin xt?) w/lots of RAM
Why would you use Bitcoin XT? You do not know what bitcoind is? Read more about it here.

Those are private keys. Each address has a private key. You can import the private key (i.e. the address) to (almost) any wallet once someone makes it public.

Ive sent some transactions using coin control.
Yes. It works if you let it work in the background at first, even though it looks like it is not responding.
