Mining solo with an Ant S7

I recently bought an S7 ANtminer. Do you think its a good idea going solo with this equipment?

It depends what your goal is?? How much profit do you want? Do want to try your luck in a mining pool? Do you have to pay for electricity?

With no context, its hard to say, so please provide more information.

it burns 32 kwatts a day or 960 watts a month  say 10 cents = 96 dollars round to 100

so 1500 out of pocket 100 month to run 1 year later no block = loss of 2700

one year later you hit 1 block when ½ happened so 12.5 coins = 5000 in pocket.

really good luck you hit 2 blocks at 25 coins each 20,000 in pocket.

I personally would not do it unless you had a large set of miners.   If you can point majority at a pool and make some profit there to cover the miner then sure if you want to try.  But if just 1 miner I personally would not solo mine my one miner.

But everyone is different you might enjoy soloing enough to lose a decent amount.  Phil did a great job on math.    I would suggest against it and find a good pool.  If you really wanted to seriously solo mine I would look into renting large amounts and trying that if you serious..... but again expensive very quickly.

assuming no diff increase one s7 right now can hit a block on a average of 1111+ days, this mean 3 years at least...

There is a reason why some call solo mining "lotto mining" the odds are against you.  It is not something you can really justify I don't think with 1 S7.

I would pool mine it as I said before.  Only if a decent hobby mining operation can pay for 1 doing it for fun would I even look at it.  Even then I still personally don't solo mine anything that big.  I stick with U3's and compacs.  Those I can do for cheap on solo mining.

With a single S7, I wouldn't waste my time to enter into a lottery and wait and hope for the best so I would advise to go to a pool and mine there instead so each of your shares be rewarded but if you happen to have another set of S7 that you could let to run (Maybe something around 10 of them) then that's when you should mine solo.
