Hi,

if Bitcoin will be forked to allow a bigger blocksize, will Multibit HD still be functional ?  Or is an update reqiered in that case ?

It shouldn't make any difference to MultiBit HD if the maximum block size increases.

When MultiBit HD connects to the Bitcoin network it gives the Bitcoin Core/ XT node it is talking to what is known as a bloom filter.
This tells the node 'Hey, don't give me all the transactions, just give me the ones that match this filter'.

Thus if the block size increases the Core / XT node with filter the 2MB / 8MB / whatever MB block down to just the transactions you are interested in.

Of course, it will need to be tested beforehand to make sure.

MultiBit HD   Lightweight desktop client.                    Bitcoin Solutions Ltd   Bespoke software. Consultancy.
