It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Yep. My degree is in graphic design and advertising. I have a second degree in studio art as well, though not as useful it was only a few more classes for a degree in both fields.

Looking at the other thread, I think it's more a matter of him being too busy with his dayjob handling fiat to spend time on bitcoin projects. It seems the project was OK with his contract, and he even took legal advice to check on it.
