I'd like to create a website with a very radical political message. It won't be unethical (encouraging violence, etc) but I feel the points I plan to list in it will definitely make me a lot of enemies.

How hard would it be to protect my identity from anyone finding out who I am? I know domains always have a $10/year option for privatizing your registration information but is there any other protection I should think about having?
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

It's against TOS to leave false WHOIS information, so the best way your opponents can attack you is by taking the domain down.

Always use the $10/year privacy service, then everyone cannot see you've left false information.

Then feel free to enter all fake info, and use a proxy while doing it, and whenever you update your website.

Satoshi Nakamoto have the best answer. He manage to get the domain Bitcoin.org without any trace.  Huh

So sad! This profile does not appear as the #1 result (on anonymous) Google searches anymore.

It's not a much of country or provider issue. You should not use false whois info because whoever's against your cause or simply has malicious intentions could target you more easily. Unless of course you're willing to use .gr, where no information about owners are disclosed. I think that must be the only country tld doing this.

A friend said  simplest and best way to eliminate many of these things being used to identify you is

Don't register a domain or pay for hosting at all. Instead, register with a free blogging platform such as Tumblr or WordPress.com

Found here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=103369.0.

bitcoin.org was originally owned by Satoshi. He registered it through https://www.anonymousspeech.com

The website theymos mentioned provide anonymous domain registration and hosting. Another plus is that it also provide anonymous email.

So sad! This profile does not appear as the #1 result (on anonymous) Google searches anymore.

Only thing needed for perfection would be payment in BTC.

Also a hidden service would be an option, but would only accessible using Tor

I dont know if they have a Tor-based website but I do know that they accept Bitcoin. If you look at the right sidebar, there is an update which titled "Bitcoin Payments".

From here, https://www.anonymousspeech.com/anonymous_payment.aspx#bitcoin.

AnonymousSpeech.com recommends Bitcoin payments. If you do not have Bitcoins yet you can purchase them here. We also offer an additional 5% discount for all payments done in Bitcoin.

Once you are using Bitcoin we guarantee you will love it! Fast, secure, and no fees at all. We know that it takes time for this mindshift for each and one of our customers, but once you have done it you do not want to switch back, ever!!!

That takes away some of the flexibility and is different for each case so it's up to you. Look up the ToS of each service, their registration process etc. Do you trust the provides with the required info you should give for registering? Would your blog's views be in agreement with their ToS?

Rates for an anonymous site are pretty expensive.
40 EUR for a dot com domain
30 EUR for shared-linux server per month!  No DDOS protectoin and only 1 SQL database.
Yikes!
