This is actually potential to be really huge. Their wiki page for Bitcoin is actually really good as well.

I wonder whats gonna have the greater mid term effect:

- torrentleach.org accepts bitcoin
- infinity poker accepts bitcoin only for gringos
- ogrr.com/mmoexchange.net merger

- torrentleech with likely have big effect, since they give a massive bitcoin discount, so these 500k users have a lot of incentive to try bitcoin.
- infinity poker might well be vaporware. getting a pokersite rolling needs massive amounts of users aka ads aka money
- ogrr/mmoexchange: whatever happened to that one? ogrr seems dead and mmoexchange didnt announce anything relating to bitcoin

how good is the tracker?
whats better compared to piratebay?

piratebay is an index torrentleech.org is a tracker

Pirate bay can do the same thing, http://torrentz.eu/search will search several sites.. You should use a ip block list if your going to use pirate bay or anything similar. It should not matter with torrentleech.

pretty sure infiniti poker will be accepting bitcoin for deposit, not for playing currency.  their lead pro is gavin smith.  i smell fail.  they're pumping lots of money into advertising and not even up and running.  webcam poker is nothing new.. 888 has it.

i'd like a private torrent invite tho Smiley

ogrr froze new registrations since the merger was announced to avoid people squatting user names from mmoexchange.net. So far they are 1 month behind schedule but continue to work on it. Last post referring to the merger by some ogrr guy:

I think it will have the biggest impact mid-term-wise, since roughly 10k new people are exposed to bitcoin through this and many will stick with it once they tried it out to conduct their daily rune scape trades.
If infinity poker however really would take off that of course would top any other bitcoin application currently in the making, even more I think then if Kim Dotcom would make BTC the only payment for his new services. After all some famous Canadian poker guy is signed up for it and not much competition is around atm to raise the barriers of entry to this market.
We appreciate everyone's patience!

Thats awesom BTC is becoming more mainstream.  I want to buy some porn with it, just because of the concept, and I never pay for porn.

On another not, I think the torrent protocol got too mainstream and is a target by the entertainment industries.  I hope someone comes up with a improved protocol, rather then private trackers.  (Demoniod got shut down)

Or you just use a decent VPN and pay a btc for 3-12 months worry free and complete privacy.

And who do you think brought it up on their radar? That's right, yours truly. I posted about Bitcoin on their forums last year, I was rejected straight away.

Nice job assimilating quark. Just keep at it; resistance is futile.

They not only denied me back then, they also deleted the thread.

I disagree. I consider various other projects much more valuable. As the long delay in releasing them makes me feel like I fell for a cheap pump and dump, I don't feel too comfortable even naming them. Too much pump and dump in bitcoin Sad

mmoexchange could have a big impact even though they dont have hundreds of thousands of users. basically, i consider two scenarios where bitcoin is "here to stay". one being used by a large number of people in general, the other becoming the de facto standard way of payment in a specific niche market. game item and currency trading is big enough to be such a niche and bitcoin is a very fitting match for these transactions. mmoexchange could be a first big step in that market.

Now on http://tvtorrents.com/ as well Smiley It's a well known and IMO very good site for TV series. I don't know how many users, but north of 50k at least.

It's not automatic (yet anyway), but here's their announcement:

New donation option
As you may have noticed, our ability to accept donations has been somewhat limited recently.
I'm now looking into using bitcoin as a possible alternative. If you have bitcoins and would like to help trying it out, I will give you double value for making a donation. Send a PM or contact me on irc

I have a few invites to give out, PM me. Hopefully you'll consider donating so that they see accepting BTC is a good idea Tongue

Site Information for tvtorrents.com

Have a look here: www.tribler.org - fully decentralized, so no trackers to shut down.

Some private trackers accept donations in BTC.  Such as What.cd, someone should try to spread world to sites like Broadcasthe.net and Passthepopcorn.me.  Wonder what accepting BTC for membership to invite only torrent trackers would be like.

Anyway this is good news.
