if you have encrypted your wallet can you ever completely remove a passphrase. I've tried putting a space where <new passphrase> would go, but I just cant seem to remove having a passphrase completely.

thanks

Only way is to dump the wallet contents using pywallet and importing it to a new unencrypted wallet.

Or create a new unencrypted wallet, and use the old encrypted one to send your coins to a new address in the new wallet.
