The example that is often given is that Google was 20th search engine to hit the market.
Maybe Bitcoin is the Altavista or Yahoo and the crypto-currency which is really going to strike it big is still ahead of us.

There are many supporters of bitcoin, it still has the largest user base. These users will try their to protect their interests and promote bitcoin.

Ethereum could be the next Google. It is a platform as well as a currency.

I do not know much about ethereum. But bitcoin has a more brighter future if we consider with any other crypto-currency. Bitcoin has more users and more transaction volume and all the above it has huge market cap. These are the things will make bitcoin more successful in near future.

Certainly its the future. If bitcoin will be used even just half the internet business, no doubt there be more and more eCommerce site will be accepting it. Even if Bitcoin get to be used for illegal activities but has been publicize on TV news, i think this will still get to help BTC.  as it does happen from time to time on social media

Bitcoin prices are increasing rapidly over the last few days which is the very good sign for the  future of bitcoins. If the price of the bitcoins keeps on increasing with the same pace then very soon the golden days of 2013 will be back, this will build and increase the trust for the bitcoins among the people.

The golden days of 2013 were very bad for the bitcoin for the next 20 months. We want steady rise, not pump and dump.

Yes that is also correct, I think this time the prices will be stable for longer time. Previously such sudden rise and fall of the bitcoin prices had damaged the credibility of the bitcoins. I think the time will change, trust towards he bitcoins is increased and current rise in the prices is the result of the same.

Even the better chess players can't see beyond 10 rounds.
If even in such small and closed microuniverse one can't see too far away, in the real world things are even worse.

Just enjoy and take profit from whatever happens and move away if things get too bad

Yes we cannot predict the exact the future of bitcoin. But we can predict somewhat like what would be happened in next to one or two years. Based on that we can make some profit out of bitcoin by holding it for some years.

The future of bitcoin is more brighter than what we can imagine today. We can definitely see that we can have the capacity to be the world wide medium of interchange. It has all the features to meet with the financial world with future equipment also.

Most of us know that already. We just need to make sure the average Joe's of this world will also understand that Bitcoin is the best alternative to any current fiat fueled financial service. If they realize it at some point in the future, the userbase of Bitcoin will explode. Currently services as Mastercard, Visa and a few others rule their market with iron fist with their ridiculous fees and policies. Who in his right mind wants that?

There are many reasons that bitcoin will be successful in future. The recent price appreciation is the good example for that. This might get more attraction among people to get into bitcoin. For every price appreciation bitcoin will make more powerful and more successful for sure.

When the bitcoin price  rises and market capitalization becomes larger, it will become more stable and attract more users.

well it's not something that you can control, it will happen again and again in the future, the market will level itself at the end with enough people joining bitcoin, right now it's impossible to prevent p&d

I think Bitcoin will eventually be replaced. It has some drawbacks like slow transaction times and scalability issues. I'm hoping for Ethereum to be a BTC competitor in a couple of years.

The example that is often given is that Google was 20th search engine to hit the market.
Maybe Bitcoin is the Altavista or Yahoo and the crypto-currency which is really going to strike it big is still ahead of us.

Wrong, you are looking at it with the wrong angle which in return gives you a faulty analogy. You need to think of Bitcoin in terms of a protocol and not a service. Namely, the internet had several protocols that were competing at the beginning and TCP/IP won. Right now it's safe to say Bitcoin is the TCP/IP of cryptos, it has been solid for years and you can build on top of it. There are no realistic "Bitcoin replacements" ahead.

It is true of anything that with new tech comes new crime.  This is true of the standard FIAT and whatever the next thing that comes along. Everything is moving to digital and BTC is the start of that.

Absolutely. Huge volatility in price is good for traders and holders, but not much else. If we want Bitcoin to play a significant and legitimate role in the future, it needs to be understood that we need to build practical uses outside of speculation, which huge volatility makes difficult.

By 2025, it will be the 6th largest.

By 2035, it will be the largest.

It will be used widely. Many people in many countries will have bitcoin. That is different from other national currencies. For example, Japanese Currency is main owned by Japanese.
