He's probably working on a plea deal with the Japanese government. If he gives up Satoshi's identity, they might go softer on him.

But I don't know if Karpeles is the type of individual that would 'roll'. Only time will tell.

Wait. How Karpeles knows Satoshi identity? And even if he really does know that, what Satoshi has to do with this case and trial to begin with?

I think he is just pulling your leg on that one.  ..... Karpeles does not know who Satoshi is, if he did...Satoshi would have been revealed already. He will sell his soul for some

money... so it seems.  

I guess he is working on a plea bargain, but he pissed off too many Japanese people and the government to succeed in my opinion.

The latest information I heard was Karples has been charged with embezzlement, but has the option of petitioning the court for release pending trial. Trials can take months before they start and be held up for innumerable reasons. It might still be ongoing this time next year if Karples defense gets the trial adjourned enough times. If he gets found guilty they will probably appeal the decision too so the end of the trial might not be the conclusion of the whole affair.

That fat pig left France fleeing prosecution for bad financial actions.  Do you really think Japan will let him out?  No way.  They should give him life in the cell next to Ross!
