interesting times will commence. We have fpga you forgot it, but if something happens to this? We will back to stone age of mining, CPU , and if all PC's fails at same time....., if you don't have pc, you don't have internet, don't need crypto currencies..... many things must happens....... Regards

Ah, I don't think much of anything would happen. If AMD goes down it doesn't mean every card they've ever made suddenly stops working. People would just keep mining with their current gear. I could see some AMD cards going for a premium on eBay if people can't get new ones, but there's enough out there to easily last a while.

People will start mining with nVidia Teslas and old ATI cards purchased on eBay.

No, people would just change and adapt. Let's say for grins something happens and every ATI card out there today died all at once and there was no replacement. People will fall back to whatever else might work (nVidia, CPU, etc) and the difficulty will just drop. Just be a few rough rounds until it does.

What if the world was free from dick-heads/wrist jockeys and BCF only allowed decent posters, and all this happened just before the mayans got it right about the end of the world.
