i feel like bitcoin is already getting fairly popular even without advertising because it is just so great. "great things don't need advertising"
Not really, don't make your judgement depending in the community here in this forum, many people out don't know anything about this forum , and even about Bitcoin currency. Bitcoin still need advertising in my opinion |

Lots of great things need advertising and benefit tremendously from it. Here's a partial list of well-known products/services which spend millons on advertising. They wouldn't do it if it wasn't necessary, or at least didn't help: MasterCard Bank of America (or any national bank) iPhone Mac Any airline Any vehicle 4G networks Yes, there are some products that take off with little to no advertising. Those are statistical outliers and are not normal (congrats to them, though). The point is that everyone knows what a car is, where to go to get airline tickets, or where to go to get a financial product/service. And even then millions are spent to promote what everyone already knows about. How much more does a superior product/service that hardly anyone knows about (Bitcoin) need marketing? |

It is popular yes & no. Many people till now don't know what is bitcoin and how it works and the majority won't get a chance to know it without our intervention. I hope that every bitcointalk.org member put the bitcoin video in his YouTube or share his story about btc. If anyone is a member of another forum he could definitely ask there if they ever heard about bitcoin... etc Like that we will have more and more users and btc will be widely accepted  |

Bitcoin needs some positive attention in the media, that's the best kind of advertising you could have.
If the price doubles again, than we would see a lot more adoption.

There is no such thing as small advertisement.
We should keep talking about it over internet, real life, etc.
We may also need some strong firms to use bitcoin in couple of their services (like spotify etc.)

Price up, media exposure up, adoption up, more price up. I just want the price to increase gradually. No more than 5% a month. |

A little while back, people were really pushing the idea of getting Uber to start allowing drivers to accept bitcoin payments. I think this will be a huge push for advertisement, because (drunk) people might want to know what the QR codes are for and what they are supposed to do with it... Maybe not though... Most people who use Uber are drunk to the point of being very talkative with the driver or about to throw up in their center console. |

Well, I disagree. Great things do need advertising nowadays and we all know that. Just name one thing which is great and we know it without advertising. I mean a human-made thing not one of the bounties of Nature of course. If we do not advertise bitcoin, the adoption will be slower.So we have to work hard to promote bitcoin and use it. |

using bitcoin by investing it in such services could be good tool to advertise it as well i think that the best method to advertise bitcoin is just investing in the great sites which support the bitcoin as payment processor |

Making popular would be the good this for all commodities as well to make believe on the real usage of bitcoin. I believe if the price of bitcoin hit a new high, that news itself a good advertisement for bitcoin to make it more and more popular with in over night time period. |

Are we going to be constantly buying shirts based the price? That could get rather expensive. It is really tough to advertise Bitcoin but I do agree we need more ways to do it. |
