Very sorry about late payment caffinewriter, been a busy week. I've paid slightly extra than % earned due to payment being late (1% per day).

Thanks, all squared up now. I may reinvest at another time, but I need "all hands on deck" for my current venture.

Hm, come to think of it, the 5 investor limit needs not be lifted if the 1BTC cap is lifted. We had passthroughs with Pirate too.

Actually, keeping an inner circle of 5 "primary" investors could be quite a clever way to run a ponzi. Starting at 1BTC investment cap implies he's broke though. I think it's a good idea to have at least a few thousand dollars worth of initial capital whan starting a ponzi so that you can use your money to brag and instill trust in the profitability of your "business".

This thread leaves me with the words "confidence scam" floating though my mind, and a total loss of respect for anyone who becomes, or already is an unwitting shill.

I know right, I actually got challenged on here when I called it out.

Anyone who espouses this as a success is directly responsible when it fails.

I'll just leave this here.

This should still raise red flags to anyone looking to invest, and I am willing to stake what little reputation I may have that the risk of collapse or theft is very high.

Risk of collapse is 100%.

If there was a way to make this high of a return in any way, our monetary system could not exist, or at the very least inflation would be in the triple digits.  Everyone would be doing it and have millions of dollars.

In my personal life I often invest (in myself) on projects which net 100% profit.  1000% profit has happened as well, it's typically just not particularly reliable or predictable.  It's not improbable or impossible to find a way to make a 5-10% profit reliably.  If you think that is, you are retarded. That is not an insult, just a statement of fact.

I don't see why it is so bad to check something out on this forum.  Honestly if someone can't think straight enough to not yell "wolf" every time they see anything they don't like I question their judgement on ANYTHING.

The argument that I have lent credence to any scam is a weak one, btw.  This thread continues to drag the op through the mud.

It's not improbable or impossible to find a way to make a 5-10% profit reliably.

You are correct, if you're talking about yearly profit. Even real (inflation-adjusted) profit for a limited (but arguably even very high) amount of capital can be "reliably" over 5% annually.

"Reliably" is in quotes because there is always a non-negligible risk. But, yeah, absent systemic crises it is not inconceivable that someone could make that kind of profit for decades without failure.

5% weekly can work for some amount of money and for some amount of time, and it's never reliable unless we talk about trivially small amounts. Even if someone has this kind of real world business (I think drug trafficking can sometimes achieve these kinds of returns), it will eventually grow large enough to saturate its market (hence lower profits) and attract competition (hence lower profits too).

This thread is a caricature of a ponzi scheme. Maybe, with enough idiots, it can grow to a real ponzi scheme.

Caricature? I'd say more like a huge wall sized oil painting. But of course you have to stand back to see it properly.

Buffer?  I was hoping you lost the will to live completely.

If 5% is so hard to make why are there businesses at all?
