17-year old Serbian girl Olga Danilović reached semi final of tournament in Moscow! She outscored world's number ten Julia Georges 6:3 6:3.
She lost in qualifications to Badosa but she had luck to end up in main draw after some players decided not to play in Moscow.
Her dream came true! I can say that our future in women tennis is bright with this talent!

Hmmm. Interesting, haven't heard about her but at this early age, I think he can definitely win some trophies and became a future number 1. I think most tennis greats started at a young age and developed their talent and skills and winning tournaments at age 20++. And around that age, she will peak already and be a contender. Surely gonna watch her develop.

@Juggy777, too early to compare here to Maria Sharapova.  Grin, let her develop her own tennis destiny.

I have not seen this match but will definitely search for this, from what you have said she's definitely the next big thing in the world of tennis. I just hopes she's able to control her new earned fame and not end up making a mess like sharapova who had such a amazing carrer and now all that is left is tainted memory of her, when is the final and who's up against her it'll be epic if she wins it.

You are absolutely right man. It's too early to predict her future but for now she looks pretty good. I mean, damn, she is just 17.

Her adventure is not coming to an end yet. She defeated Sasnovich today 2:1 (6:2 5:7 7:5) where she showed strong head when she lossed three straight gems when she had 5:2 and managed to win next two and finish match.

She will be playing in final against another one 17-year old player, Russian Potapova.

Olga Danilović managed to win her first title in professional tennis after win against Potapova 2:1. It was very tough match but Olga was more calm and finished that match.

Olga became first player born in this century to win a title. Also, she became the youngest lady who won any title on WTA Tour.

I might be boring with all this but I think we are witnessing a birth of a new star. Cheesy

Yes this is a huge achievement for someone so young to win their first title. She does look like she will be a top player but the question is can she continue to go on with it. We have seen so many players with talent winning great matches but can never go onto becoming that star player. One that comes to mind for me is Eugenie Bouchard who looked to become a star player but has since drop out of the top players in Women's tennis. I think if Olga can stay fit and healthy then she has a huge chance at being the best one day.

I can promote your project on X to my 100k+ followers for a reasonable price. Just DM me for prices.

Potapova is a young star too. I think she won Wimbledon juniors a couple of years ago. Tennis is moving on, with new stars on the rise. Gonna be interesting few years coming up once the Williams sisters retire and Sharapova getting old too. It is absolutely crazy how long the Williams sisters have lasted on the tour. Massive respect for them.

This time, it looks like Andy Murray is on the comeback zone as well, winning 3-6 6-4 7-5 over Mackenzie McDonald at Citi Open. He's been out for almost a year if I'm not mistaken and we do hope that this is the start of Andy on the winning trail again. We have seen Novak Djokovic do it this year, winning Wimbledon eventually and it was really emotional for him. So let's see if Murray can do it as well, and it makes tennis more exciting again as the top 4 would be healthy and battling it out for the top spot.

Britain's Andy Murray beat Mackenzie McDonald 3-6 6-4 7-5 in the Washington Open's first round in his fourth match following hip surgery in January.

Murray, 31, converted his seventh match point after more than two-and-a-half hours on court against the American.

"Mentally, it was a big one to get through," said former world number one Murray. "I fought hard and I had to. The movements and stuff were fine"

It is indeed nice to see Murray back on the tennis court! Lets hope he can stay fit and than we have some interesting times before us.
The big 4 ( or 5 if you count Wawrinka) are still dominating the grand slams!

Oh I totally forgot Stan. LOL. Going back to Andy again, he said he's thinking of retirement  because he has doubts that he can came back after getting a hip surgery. Its really hard to think that those high level athletes are still human after all. They go through a lot of ups and down and even questioning themselves.

Quote
'You do think about ‘what if I can’t come back, what if this is the end?’ and think about what you are going to do with yourself. I have been playing tennis my whole life. This is all I have known, so it will be a big change when I do stop, but I always felt like I would be able to come back. It is obviously not where I would want to be ranking-wise but the good thing is, when you are up at the top of the game, it is not easy just to move up one spot. If I win a couple of matches here, I could move up 300, 400 spots in a week, which is nice. Hopefully I can get back up quickly but it sort of feels like I am starting from scratch again. Obviously I have not been in that position since I was 18. It is going to be hard but it should be fun', said Murray.

https://www.tennisworldusa.org/tennis/news/Andy_Murray/58328/andy-murray-opens-up-on-living-hell-i-considered-retirement/

If he can overcome this obstacles, then I'm sure it will be a good thing for him more on a personal level. He should take inspirations from his fellow tennis star like Djokovic as well so that he can get past that emotional stage.

Lets hope Murray can get through this difficult time in his life and keep fighting on as it would be a shame to see such a player to retire now. However getting over a hip injury must be tough so I can see why he is thinking about retiring as he needs to look more after his body in the long term future. Lets just hope it all goes well for him.

There was news circulating that he might withdraw in the Citi Open because it was around 3 am when he finished a match against Copil. He complained about the schedule that caused his match to start around midnight. Maybe there's a reason for the delay. Or perhaps he is not used to play this late. Murray is still on a lot of emotional stress as evident of his crying after winning the match.

He has been away for nearly a year so you knew it was something he had to have time to fully heal and the hip is as back on a tennis player as knee or elbow injury.
Especially Murray because he makes those awkward shots where he twists his whole upper body and comes down hard on his lower body.
I wouldn't want to be a tennis player's physio therapist.

I saw Murray playing against Edmund and he is still far from being 100%. Lets hope that everything improves well and that he doesn't retire which would be a pitty for the tennis.

I guess the rumor is true. Murray withdraw after a grueling match that lasted in the morning. It seems that his body has not totally healed after all. But its a good decision, he has still a lot of tennis years ahead of him so its better not to force his body because he just came from a hip injury. The past 3-4 days for him was really exhausted and maybe his body is telling him to take it easy as he might re-injured and end his career.

Hello guys, took a tennis parlay yesterday which won, breaking my terrible losing streak in football (tennis has that touch for me, call it a gut feeling or whatever!).

Looking at just the Sousa/Oliveira game today, liking Sousa a lot but ML odds aren't great so going for a over 20.5 @1.85 instead: https://www.bitcoinrush.io/sportsbook/ShareBet?id=LoD4F%2B2UVm2UjDjycx9eSb9mylR07hEVaV5df4B9d8Q%3D

Absolutely. Part of being a true professional is knowing your own body. I know sports injuries personally and was stupid enough when much younger to play through the pain, with regret years later. We can wait for him to come back and give us great tennis later.

Yeah, you are right. Bouchard is good example of that. But, to be honest, she was kinda too hot for tennis Tongue. And when she realised she could be model, her tennis  downfall started.
Well Olga is just 17, lets see what happens.

I don't know about you guys, but when I encounter "hot" sportswomen, I almost automatically don't rate them too highly. I know it's sexist perhaps, but then if I consider that I also feel the exact same way about metrosexual footballers like Ronaldo, then perhaps it's just a prejudice I have against good looking people (being pretty fugly myself).

I mean, if they're spending all that time looking good, they should be allowed to. But I'd back the consummate professional any day over someone with an eye on their looks.

Oh and, lost my tennis bet today. Oliveira just gave the game away to Sousa so easily.

They are allowed to choose their profession, of course. But, obviously, they need to sacrifice something. It is pretty clearly what sacrifice has she made.

Eh, you should have made bet on Klizan. He was easy one today. And odd wasn't bad at all (@1.60).

I think Martin Klizan is on fire and is producing magnificent performances lately. I was convinced about him when he was able to beat D. Thiem 4 days ago and i also missed the chance to bet yesterday as i was occupied all day.
