Would love to snag another core 2 quad from someone.  Local would be awesome!  Also DDR2 rams.

i think you got a good deal on that c2q. I sold my c2q on ebay 2 months ago and I got $166 for it. Thats something like 15 bitcoins. Saint mightve been better off selling it piecemeal since people want some customization and not a bunch of junk they dont want.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83 GHz Quad-Core (AT80569PJ073N) Processor (#271024719613)   US $165.97

That's a way better C2Q than the Q6600 though.  Those Q9550's have always been valued significantly higher.

Yep. Bummer that I got such a good deal--not sure why everyone feels its necessary to pipe in and tell me what I already know.  Q6700 and Q6600 have lower core frequency yes-but also a lower cost across the board.  I will never pay that much for a processor that is 2/3 sockets out of date, hyped up or not it is very old hat.  I'm looking to get some motherboards updated--not really throw money around for that last bit of performance.

People pay stupid amounts for high end old hardware at times though, it's incomprehensible. The Q9550 is about as high as you can go in socket 775, but for that price you could buy a IB quad core that would run circles around the C2Q. Hell, if you live near a Mircocenter you could pick up a i5-3570k, Z77 ATX MB with two x16 slots, and a 8GB DDR3 kit for $250, and that's without MIRs. Why upgrade from an old C2D to a C2Q for $165 when you could just sell your existing MB, CPU and DDR2 and get a brand new kick ass system for the same price as the upgrade?

To be clear, I wasn't trying to argue that the Q9550 was a good deal at that price.  I was just identifying the fact that the higher end stuff still goes for a LOT more than the mid or lower end.

Still looking for core 2 quad, prefer processors with 1066 fsb.  The main update here is that I am low on bitcoins for payment but we can do paypal or ebay transaction if you would like.

If you are still interested in some hardware I am upgrading a few parts and have most of my current setup for sale:

This pretty lady, she's been running strong for four years now so it's certainly used: GTX260 // 896MB // GDDR3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133270

Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188026 solid, has never failed me.

CPU: core2duo 3.0ghz E8400 wolfdale http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115037

willing to let it go fairly cheap, shoot me a msg, will escrow.
