For 1 Bitcoin to be worth $1,000,000, the total market cap of Bitcoin would have to be $21 trillion dollars. What are the odds of this happening?

For reference, the amount of physical $dollars and coins in circulation are around $1.2 trillion. The global M2 money supply of all currencies are around $45 trillion. The market cap of all mined gold is around $7 trillion.

Will 1 Bitcoin be worth a million dollars? Half a million? Thoughts?

This post or this thread is from 2015 , three years I'm quite shock though , they said that 1 bitcoin value cannot be 1million dollar so quess what though the bitcoin price is almost 1million , the price of bitcoin is 616,000 dollars. Half of a million.

Wow ! 1 BTC = 1M !! Is this really possible !! Who knows... Because the previous 2 year was so exciting for BTC holders. That is really amazing that how the price of BTC is getting high. If we think of the current situation we can guess that within next ten years it could be really possible. If it happens I will not be surprised too much.

Yes it could happen, if it becomes huge and used worldwide in trading and financial businesses. Even experts are acknowledging this scenario, but giving it just 0.02% chances of happening. Well even 0.02% is better than 0 chances! Smiley

Atleast it has a chance, its too early now to say that. Cryptocurrency is not yet known in the whole world so many businessmans don't know what bitcoin is and what is that use for and the new generation now what if they all use bitcoin in their daily life . I think its not impossible but its not the right time maybe after 10 years or 20 years we could figure it out.

it is unlikely that it happened, because the price is so true that the price is too high. If it does happen it might affect each country because there are still countries that do not allow bitcoin in their respective countries. But it can be profitable for us who use it.  Grin

The price of bitcoin as of now is 11876.42 but here on the my country almost half a million , so yes I think in future bitcoin value will be half of a million or should I say a million , you see some changes right , I look at some post here they said bitcoin wouldn't reach it but look at now.

it would happen if the technology of bitcoin will continue to upgrade or else it would stock on the same if they don't upgrade it, because we are living in the modern world and many investor will have interest if theres a new technology that would be born
Every year there is a new technology coming out and replacing all the old ones. I think bitcoin can adopt with these changes for it is known to be a digital currency which works through the virtual world. A lot of people are investing in bitcoin which will be reasonable to upgrade its technology along with the major upgrades happening every year.
I wish to see that happen but it seems like it was just a fantasy, although that is good but too unrealistic for me. I would already be happy even if I will see only a price of $10,000.

Everyone thrives on hopium. This joint would be awfully quiet if it was commonly acknowledged that BTC was a weed and crybaby who couldn't budge a piddling amount upwards without collapsing again.
And it's not going anywhere without some long term faith.

In my opinion, one bitcoin equivalent one million dollars that is so incredible. It will take a long period of the time or year before that happen. Like previous month December bitcoin got the high value one bitcoin = 1 million pesos (Philippines pesos). I believe that someday bitcoin can reach 1 million dollars with the help of the investor. The high demand bitcoin in the markets the chance to increase the value of it.

At this moment, its too far from reality, even a decade passed by, Some of the country prohibits using bitcoin, because of possible anomalies might happen in the future, This is the big threat faced by bitcoin users.

If the bitcoin can represent the whole US government debt, it is more than 1 million dollars.

I think that bitcoin can replace gold as a secure store of value. so I think we could in fact see prices between 100k - 300k.
Prices above are very ambitious, but who knows?

For an asset like Bitcoin set value by its community user, you're right. The value of Bitcoin is unknown and it won't be worthless if the world still like to using it, investing in this currency. Bitcoin really made the world changed opinion about finanicial, stock, forex market, ... This place isn't a gambling type, it's investment.

Time off to sleep ... ( ̄︶ ̄)~

Finally someone who is putting down the numbers. And the numbers are showing that 1 Bitcoin 1 Million $ is far beyond what's possible. Unless the whole world turns completely mad, in which case probably we would also see the dollar disappear.
